This. Also, don't buy tickets from the guys with a ton of tickets, find the regular guys trying to unload tickets on their way into the stadium.

I will second that notion as a Duck fan. I've been looking forward to this game like no game I have ever anticipated. I lived in suburban Atlanta for the past 6 months or so and have only heard great things about the football experience in Knoxville. My one question I have is how welcoming are Vol fans/tailgaters to visiting opponents? I am coming with about 5-6 friends and we are just looking to get a traditional southern football experience. Any help with this would be appreciated. Our current plan is to just chat up some Vol fans Friday night and play it by ear but I would prefer to know what I am getting myself in to.

Good helpful post. Maybe I can get a little more help. Anyone know anyone that would be willing to sell UT tix. I live in Ft. Benning, GA and I've been trying to find cheap tix to a game. It doesn't have to be a big game, just a game. Thanks,

Vol fans will be welcoming . . . until kickoff. You should have no problems out and about at the bars tonight. As for traditional tailgating, most Vol fans will welcome you with open arms, share food and booze, and enjoy another football Saturday in the South.

Hey Guys, I've never been to a game yet and I'm going to the Ole Miss game this season..Does anyone know what time the game starts? And where are some places to watch the volwalk?

According to SI's Dan Patrick, Oregon watched game film from earlier in the Tennessee game during the weather delay, apparently a violation of NCAA rules. Give it a listen. Here is the link:

Go to the audio from Monday, September, 13, 2010, Hour 2. It's about a 2/3 of the way through hour 2 in a segment called "Best and Worst of the Weekend."

Pretty interesting. Patrick, who was watching the game with a friend Tony (whose son is a RS Freshman on Oregon) says"what happened?" (during the rain delay) and says in a hushed tone, "I don't even think this has come out yet" I am paraphrasing here, he says Chip Kelly goes in and starts looking at the game film and sees whats going on with the Tenn. defense and changes his philosophy. They had time to regroup and look at the film. Patrick did not cite his source.

My wife and I are coming down from Ohio to the UAB game on Saturday. We are staying at the Crown Plaza just down from the stadium. We will be by ourselves. I was wondering what to do about tailgating. Will other tailgaters let us join in on their tailgating or not? This will be our first game at Neyland Stadium. We can't wait to get down there. Any advice would be great.

For all you tailgating enthusist, The National Tailgating League will be arriving in Knoxville on Wednesday 11/10. The NTL will be hosting a World Series of BPONG event at Cool Beans on Thursday night. Players that sign up for the Beer Pong tournament will be automatically entered into the Cornhole Tournament on Friday. Winner of the Beer Pong tournament will recieve entry into the World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas. ($1,000 value)

On Friday, The NTL will host 2 cornhole tournaments at Crowne at Campus Pointe apartments. The winners of that will be entered into the Championship game in Charlotte for a chance to win $10,000. Entry fee is $10/team.
