Good post nikesportsfan. But, if I'd had my druthers, I would have wished the coach had grabbed the fan instead of the sign!!!

The sign was some slur on our coaches, which in retrospect was probably true

Is he getting paid? What kind of money does a job like this bring in? He isn't a student, so he's not getting any benefits as far as scholarship. Last year my sources say he was just a volunteer. A gopher that drove people around, and begged to hang around the team.

I know Chandler, he is a very good guy. In his defense, after Coach Gran's departure to FSU before the bowl game, the entire Special Teams was left in his hands...

I don't know if you realized, but we had a quality control coach with walk on athletes going against the perenial special teams powerhouse in Virginia Tech coached by their head coach, Frank Beamer!

The Special Teams broke even in the Chick Fil A Bowl... much better than the offense and defense in that game. Also, the team was awful at times during the regular season on Teams... So you could argue that Chandler Tygard improved the Special Teams tremendously...

I guess he hooked up with Big Orange 28's girlfriend or something, he obviously has an agenda.

No agenda other than hoping for a great season this year. Didn't mean to step on any toes, I just called it like I saw it, and was mostly curious about this position. I had never heard of a "Quality Control Coach" before.

No offense if you know the guy. I don't. Maybe he is a "very good guy". But that in and of itself doesn't make him qualified for the job. I was asking if this position was just a title or if it actually affected the team in anyway whatsoever. Because if it does affect the team, I think its a fair question to ask what his qualifications are, because I haven't heard anyone say he has any.

But I will dispute that UT broke even against VT on special teams in that bowl game. Special teams this past year was atrocious and that game was no different.

A side note in reference to him sleeping with my girlfriend.... us gay guys like football too you know. :)

A quality control coach, offense, defense or special teams, primary responsibility is to break down the opponents game film for their respective staff and in accordance with the staffs wishes as to how it is broken down. They cannot coach. That's what separates them from GAs
