Don't you know the ******* sky is falling? Chicken Littles are clucking and you don't want to hear them!!!!!!!!
OK for all of you Chicken Littles, the man has 3 weeks to get some players in here. There are fewer available now than earlier. Would you rather pass on some 3*s with upside potential, take some of them or just pass on everyone? I sure am glad DD is making these decisions and not you illogical armchair QBs.
If I remember correctly, we just got our arse handed to us by a team (Va. Tech) loaded with 3 star talent. The Va. Tech running back that ran all over us was a 3 star. Stars dont always mean the end all when it comes to recruits and recruiting. Maybe CDD sees something in this kid that the recruiting services don't.
Exceptions aren't the rule.
Show me a team full of 2- and 3-star talent, and I'll show you a mediocre team.
And before Boise State is trotted out as an exception, two things. 1) See my first sentence. 2) Boise State has what UT may not: one of the elite head coaches in the nation.
there is no rule. it's all a guess. read this:
The Super Bowl is full of players many big programs didn't want - Bruce Feldman - ESPN
CDD + Lance Thompson + Monte Kiffin when he was here...this kid didn't just pop onto our radar now. He's been there.
That won't convince him. LOL. He is one of the anti-DD s!!! birds.

There's definitely a rule...the teams that win titles are always among the most talented ones...
Yeah, but who is the end-all-be-all when it comes to evaluating the talent of high school football players? Rivals? Scout? ESPN? Maybe.
However, if you are dense enough to think that a kids with 5*'s after their names are the most talented, you probably deserve the anxiety that goes along with following the ridiculous world of recruiting.
Patrick Willis 3* > Chris Donald 5*
Martaze Jackson 3* > ?? 5*
Just sayin.
I agree, nice pick up. Currently rated a high 3 star, close to a 4 star. Keep it up CDD! That makes us 18 recruits and counting. I think we get the allotted number of recruits this year.
this confirms your opinion:
Winning the DL MVP at the National Underclassman Combine was sophomore Martaze Jackson of Demopolis High School. Jackson, 6 feet 2 and 204 pounds, showed fantastic rush technique and speed during one-on-ones, and he also excelled during the combine events with a 10'1" broad, 32-inch vertical, 4.78 40, and 4.52 shuttle.
