New Coaching Staff

well, he did a great job with meach and a couple of senior receivers, which if you think about it, isnt really that much of a "miracle turn around". Our new guys sure have not shown up yet and that's on Troop.

I agree he did a good job last year with 5-star talent. This was a good year to really make an impact.

Are you kidding me? UT was damn good at recruiting long before Trooper and will continue to be long after Trooper.

He is good in that area, but give me a break.

no im not kidding you. Since he's been here he's the sole reason for a few recruits. I agree that we'd be fine without him, but I was just trying to give a reason why we keep him. Also, I think he's done wonders for an extremely below average talent level of receivers this year. Just the fact that he taught them how to catch a ball speaks wonders.

He needs to learn to not let Briscoe play because there are way better players sitting the bench.

that proves my talent level argument, but I'm sure if any of the new kids could figure out how to adjust routes off the defense they'd be out there.

the fact that not a single new guy (wr's) has contributed yet doesnt exactly compliment him very well

There are plenty of guys who could be on a new staff that players can relate to, like they do with Trooper Taylor.

Very true, I was just saying he is a good recruiter, and we should keep him around to help out the next coach.

honestly though, i think if we cleaned house he'd leave anyway. Before this season he had offers to hc at some schools, Hampton I think. He won't stick around

there is plenty of new blood out there that is more than capable of relating to today's players. look at what Rich has done at West Virginia, if he can win there, well, there is a staff out there that can get us turned out quickly

I have never been a Fulmer basher because I respect his love for the University and I am sure he would never want our football program to have reached our present situation; however, it has been coming for sometime and some of us did not want to admit it. We have watched other programs endure a revolving door of coaches coming and going and we liked having the stability of Fulmer at the helm. I believe the time has come to make drastic changes but as much as we would like it to be done overnite, I think we have to deliberate about it and that takes time...we can't have a knee-jerk reaction and bring just anyone in as our coach...we have to make a great hire and that will take time unless the search has already been in motion, which I hope it has been. I don't think I've ever seen a football team that looks more like it is jinxed than the VOLS...it is like we can't win for losing...we beat ourselves in so many games..I have watched us fumble away so many games, it's incredible that we can't master the fundamental skills of playing football like holding onto the ball and we have no running game...how did that happen? Ainge has been injured most of his career...what are the chances of that happening...and we don't have another back up quarter back who is almost as good? We get a chance to go to bowl games and most of the time we lose...there seems to be no passion in anyone but the fans! I hope the AD wakes up and realizes that if TN is to ever be a power again, we need CHANGE! I hope the situation is rectified before it gets to the point of fan disrespect and hatred for Fulmer because he deserves to leave in good standing with a great record.

Its kind of a sad situation when you think about it. How in the world does a team that supposedly recruits so well become so thin at key spots. Crompton is light years behind ainge. The O-line plays like sissy's so does the d-line. Secondary sucks except for berry. Six wide reciever's setting on the bench that all run sub 4.4 fourty's. It makes me want to puke.

IF FULMER LOSES AGAINST ALABAMA,GEORGIA,AND SOUTH CAROLINA, I THINK HE WILL BE GONE. IF HE IS, I THINK THEY SHOULD HIRE CHRIS PETERSON FROM BOISE STATE.

I don't know much about the situation, but it seems like Rex Ryan should get a phone call. I like the idea of a def. minded coach coming in and getting a young up and coming OC like Major Applewhite. I'm not sure if this is even in the realm of possibility however

The local media is starting to light phillip up. I'am reading a whole lot of columnist articles that are bringing up the ugly stats. Surprise most of them are talking about the same things that have been beat like a dead horse in here for weeks now.

college football live had a small segment on him too. On a side note...My last name is Carter if that's the purpose of your name!

He was chosen to have an interview but they picked someone else. I dont think they ever offered him the job.
