I live in IL. I have seen Iowa just get abolished by opponents year in and year out. I love to see them lose. I hate Ferentz... He's a terrible coach. I was elated when ISU won on Saturday.

We need McGyver...he can do more with less than anyone.

Thats the best idea i have ever heard, well let MacGyver coach offense, chuck norris can be our defensive coach, samuel jackson will be the mutha f**kin special f*c*in teams coach, and Jack Bauer will scout for us,,,

What are folks' thoughts on Charlie Strong as a possible candidate to replace Fulmer?

Here's his resume:
Inside Florida Football @ Gatorzone.com

I'm not really interested in hearing about "so-and-so would be better or more likely".. Just curious what you guys think about him ---

All other candidates notwithstanding -- would he be a good fit? A viable choice? Would he accept it?
Is he ready for a head coaching position?

We need a coach who is up and coming, a good recruiter, young, and someone who has had good success. He is on the top of my list. The more I think about it I think he would be better than Chris Peterson(my original first choice). Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher aren't likely. Don't see Gary Patterson leaving since other schools have offered before and he didn't leave. I think he is one of the best choices though.

He's solid...I don't think he's ready for a job like UT.

He interviewed at Vandy when they let Woody go...he was close on that job...I thought he was a better hire than Johnson for them, but obviously Vandy felt differently about him.

I don't think so. Tennessee is a very difficult job with the expectations, demands, and recruiting handicaps. We need someone who has experience running a major program.

I have no notion of any prejudice within the program or the school. Just a natural question being as its a top flight program, hasn't had one, and its in the South. Didn't mean to offend anyone by asking.

no offense taken here.
i thought it was a fair question...

OT, I thought for sure bama would pick croom over shula, but obviously there was something not quite right going with croom --- of course, we see what he's done at state, but state is hard to recruit (IMO) and doesn't give a guy a lot to work with without cheating (to which jackie sherrill can certainly attest)...

further off topic -- charlie strong vs phil fulmer -- it'd be nice to see a guy in really good physical shape on the sidelines for once..

I think after all we've been through over the past several years, and watching what bama went through, maybe we would lower our expectations right out of the gate (I know I would anyway)...

As for experience running a major program --- yeah, I think that's the only thing possibly holding him back.
