Obviously Chris Peterson should get a look. However, isn't medical care for his son one of the reasons he hasn't left yet. I thought I read his son has an ailment in which some of the best care he can get anywhere just happens to be in that area. Point being, this time we don't need to be turned down by anyone. We need to do our homework and get a guy who is willing to come here and is proven.
Mark Dantonio- two 10 win seasons in a row while playing second fiddle in his own state. He's brought State back from the doldrums. However, I think one can only take State so far, and I think he's about maxed out what can be done there. While Michigan has decent HS talent, he still has to rely on recruiting Ohio, to an extent nationally. Let's not forget he took Cinci from the pits and built a solid foundation, then left for State. Brian Kelly didn't rebuild Cinci, Dantonio did. Kelly did a great job putting the finishing touches on the program. And let's face it...Michigan State IS NOT TENNESSEE! The sky would be the limit here for him. Last but not least....he runs a pro style offense and his teams play hard nosed defense. I'm sick of this spread bull shiz. UT needs to be pro style, line up and run the damn football, play action.
Again, he would be in my top 3. And I think he would listen which is a VERY IMPORTANT aspect of our next coaching search. If we shoot we need to hit our target.
With all this being said, Gruden is the first call you make.
