I just assumed it was all an act and she probably knew he had been unfaithful a long time and it just being public was embarrassing. I figured it was like the Bobby Petrino situation. So do you think Mrs. Freeze was oblivious to his infidelity at Ole Miss?

Totally agree

That and $ is why I think the guy would come (for the right $ and situation).

Tennessee is not so far gone right now it couldn’t get turned around quickly with the right guy. Tennessee has the $, they have the fan support, they have facilities, they have tradition, and it’s only been 3 years since winning.

Not saying the NC ST guy is the answer. He is the “type” Tennessee probably has to look at right now.....unless somehow the really do open up the wallet.

Meyer is obviously the best coach on the board, but it's been 15 years since he left a school without embarrassing them on the way out.

Now that I think about it, I could probably live with that. The coaches we've had during that time have all embarrassed us while they're here.

if we are having to even think about that loser at North Carolina State, we just need to keep what we have. Good grief, why would we spend buy out money just to end up right back where we are?

Ahhhh that wasn’t the question.

But a fair answer to something else. Hey I wish Tennessee would pull a “Rick Barnes” for the football program. I just don’t know they will, but I’m hopeful.

If they aren’t willing someone like that is probably the best you can hope for. So if some are down for keeping Pruitt that’s cool.

Excluding this year, for the last six years they have 4 more wins than us. No way that makes them a better program. Doeren is average.

.636 says he’s better than average, and way better than what Tennessee has been over the past decade.

Also those 4 extra wins could have been huge for Tennessee. Two the year before last and 2 last year......Tennessee looking at 4 in a row they could have been winning seasons.

Reread my post! He has 4 more wins than us in the last six seasons and this has been our worst stretch of football ever! His is average!

But your using “last” 6 because it fits better for your narrative.
What about the past 2 and this year?
What about the past 9?

Either Petersen or Leach. They both do more with less and would be enough culture shock to change up the team culture. I voted Leach because bringing in a "pirate" to the team with a navy, is just to perfect. As an added bonus, he might actually take the job.

Any coach that can beat Florida more than he loses to them.
Any coach that we don't have to wait until he gets "his guys" before he can coach up a win.
Any coach that will starting beating Vandy again on a regular basis.
Any coach not hired by Fulmer

I said the last six because that is his entire time at NC state and running a big program. He would never have lasted here with his record the first 4 years he had there. I'm done with this debate, agree to disagree.

The thing is how long will he be willing to wait. I think we make a lot of sense for him. USC isn’t open and they just had a big win. He’s not going to Michigan. And Notre dame likely won’t be available any time soon as Kelly has done a great job there. TN is historically a top 10 team (even though we’ve been bad for the last decade). And we’re in the sec which is undoubtedly the best conference. I think he’d be very torn as to whether to take the job or not. The right pitch to him might make all the difference

Will take 7 mill per year. Better get it going now though.
