New Coach?

To all of the Holly supporters, do you still think she deserves another season? To all the Diamond haters, she really made us at least look at least decent. Offense was terrible again, no real game plan, team lacks fundamentals badly, but some still think Holly is the one. I'm hoping this is the straw the broke the camel's back. Holly needs to be fired or resign at the end of the season. This team has really tuned her out and looks lost and frustrated. Thoughts?
Probably count them on one hand.

WHY do you not have your five best free throw shooters in the game for the last two minutes knowing the opponent IS GOING TO FOUL!!!!!!!???????

Only a REAL coach could figure that out. You're not suggesting that a fan could figure that out could you? I don't even know you but you're hired; you couldn't do worse.

Well what do you think? Do we give Holly another year to screw up this team worse? All you rolling with Holly supporters, I hope you roll right out of town with her. The best thing she can do for this program, if she really loves the Lady Vols, is to meet with Dave on Monday and resign. I would at least have some respect for her. It is unbelievable that she wants to hang around until someone runs her off for being incompetent. Dave man up and fire Holly Dooley RIGHT NOW.

Will they really be able to convince these players to come back and give it another year if they already made up their minds that they want to transfer?

Someone please tell me why ANY LV player would want to come back and play for Holly? Tradition? Tradition of destroying a basketball program. Someone please call 9 1 1 before it's too late; may be already too late.

If I was Dave I would call Holly, tonight, fire her butt and tell her that her office has been cleaned out and that her stuff has been boxed and set out on the front lawn. I would send the what we needed to buy out her contract and tell her to mail her keys to my office.

Realistically, she probably would have to be fired or bought out. Why would she voluntarily give up all that dough? Just saying....

I don't know why everyone thinks Tennessee has a birthright to a great women's basketball program. What we had was 100% Pat. It's over. What is so hard to understand about that? Connecticut will face the same thing once Gino goes too.

Has UT ever fired a male HC after one bad season following only successful ones?

Have UT ever had a male coach who a zero recruiting year followed by an awful season? Even if Holly was fired for one bad season, she would not be the first in th SEC. It happened at Kentucky when they had a shot at John Calipari.

Another thing, just because of a sexual harassment suit, UT can still fire Holly because it is no way they could relate the two. To think differently is mixing apples and tangerines. What if they fired her and hired another woman coach? Inept coaches, man, woman, or of any race, can't hold schools hostage because they might file an EEO complaint. If that was the case, you could only fire white male coaches.

Kentucky, UCLA, UNC and Kansas think they have a birthright to a great men's program. If they can believe and act that way--and they do--then we are entitled to that same entitlement on the women's side.

Oh and UConn will be in the Big 12 soon so their road to post Geno relevancy will get much easier. Their proximity to NYC and those recruits will make their attempt at relevance much easier than ours.

It is not about birthright, it is about having the best coaches and recruiting the best players to put your team in position to win. That ideology is nothing new to men's teams and should be the same for women's teams. You cannot, or should not, allow a team to go to hell in a handcart. Mediocrity is accepting defeat and saying that is the way life is.

No way Holly gets fired when UT is in the midst of a Title IX lawsuit. She would sue UT, add fuel to the negative publicity, cause even more problems for UT... and receive a big settlement. The LVs may lose players, fans and prestige after this horrific season, but Holly will be back for another year.

Sue UT for WHAT??? Everyone in the world have witnessed this debacle. The only thing UT would be guilty of this year with HW is being too patient. Those same young women would surely make the final 4 with the right coach. Gail G....(old Duke coach), Brenda Freeze, Nikki Fargus, Nikki McCray, and have Tamecka Catchings, Glory Johnson, Semeka Randal as motivating consultants. They knew how to hustle and be aggressive. They were hungry LV for a National Championship. All, except Glory achieve at least 1.
This is not Personal-Just Business..if Holly looks deep down she should know that its time to release the helm.

Jimmy Cheek and Dave Hart have more to worry about (mainly hanging on to their jobs, with both praying to see the light of 2017) than the LV head-coaching issue. Unfortunately, there's little chance Holly will retire. She's too entitled and proud to go out looking like a total failure, and ego will convince her this season was cursed.

This leaves us with a disgruntled fan base, but not enough at the gates to concern the bean counters (never the biggest worry since the sport has never generated revenue), a bewildered and lost coaching staff and befuddled players. Is there a solution? Since a coaching change won't happen, Holly first needs to fire her best bud, Jolette, and find the best offense-minded assistant available, and please stay away from the Summitt tree. Second, shake up the guards by giving the team to DD the rest of the way. Have her bring the ball up and penetrate, then take that sweet jumper if it's open or dish to the perimeter to Middleton or Dunbar, our best pure shooters. If Graves or Russell are open and aggressive enough to catch the ball, possibly feed them, but no more forced entries.

Yes, my lineup would be ...

DD (1)
Middleton (2)
Dunbar (3)
Graves (4)
Russell (5)

Subs: Meme, Nared, Moore

Sit and bake: Cooper (most overrated recruit in LV history), Reynolds (wasted scholly), Carter (gets worse with each minute played) ... Jones (career up in the air, but when healthy another turnover machine on a team full of TO artists).

Nothing Holly does at this point can be worse than the current record-breaking (all bad) pace. Shake it up and let your only true talent have the team. Sit back, whistle ever so often to appear you're into the action, plan where you and Jolly are eating out with your gal pals and cash your paycheck!
