New coach, new QB too?

I think we have three and possibly four good candidates to fight it out. Could very well start off with Hooker, and then Salter pressing him by end of year. Just my take.
Do we have a QB that can run the option? From what I’ve read, Heupel likes the option. I’ve never watched UCF play so I wouldn’t know about his offense.

What I have read more of a spread, hurry up style only 15 seconds in between plays, lot of passing

Just let the man do his job for goodness sakes. He hasn't even been here one day and some of this insane fan base that lives on social media just can't help bitching!

I watched some video yesterday and it appeared the Qb was running the RPO often and keeping the ball often. I’m not sure how Bailey will do if the video I watched is a good starting point to gauge the offense under Heupel.

Agree, I don't think his offense fits HB as well as our other QBs.

Bailey may not have the wheels to get away with less protection. Not to mention he has the slowest release and lacks the arm strength of the other 3.

Hooker is a DT but I’m not sure how he’ll fair in the SEC. He runs a 4.97 which is just a touch faster than Tom Brady.

Salter is only 6’1 185 and may need to fix his throwing mechanics to a more “over the top” delivery to change his release point. The half and half sidearm delivery is likely to become an issue in the SEC.

Maurer imo will be available and possibly checks the most boxes in Heupel offense. I wouldn’t count him out.

If you watched the press conference he said,
He’s worked with all types of QB’s, pocket passers, dual threats, short, tall but the thing that matters most is on the inside, his makeup

I haven’t watched the conference yet. Plan on it later tonight.

I do not know who will win the starting QB position, but I will bet that whoever it is, will throw slants over the middle for a change.

The really good thing is it won't be "Guarantano that gives us the best chsnce to win".

I feel real good about our group!

Bailey showed us something this year.

Hooker has looked good at Tech.

Salter is a blue chipper.

Then Maurer rounds the group out with a good deal of experience/has potential.

We are going to be worlds better at this position.
