All in all, none of us know jack about whats going to happen, so we get to check this freakin board every chance we get and watch espn as much as possible until they announce it in 5 weeks, maybe longer.

I agree.

Still can't figure out why there's been no denial from Gruden if he doesn't at least have an interest.

haha it sucks doesnt it... I skim through every thread on here hoping to gain just a little more insight to whats going on in the higher up's minds...
But in here its just dreamin... mixed in with a little reality..

I really like Kiffin.. I really like Muschamp.. And I really like Leach... SO we will see...

and as my father said tonight... though it would not be a fun experience... if we get the wrong guy ... we can always fire him and start over... it would suck... but wouldnt be the end of the world...

haha... GO VOLS!

I am not for sure if its been posted...if so sorry. I thought it was pretty interesting to see what Hamilton has to say.

ESPN - Leach, Kelly, Kiffin, Brewster all on Vols' list - SEC

I don't know, i don't really see Gruden being out of the race, from reading this article. I thought it was very interesting however that his name was never mentioned (unless i missed it) Something is up with Gruden, maybe he has something saying no one will mention his name until he is ready or something, but to write up a whole article and not even mention Gruden seems skeptical to me.

It's been mentioned on here, PTI, and ATH about Gruden and many other places as well, and I know Chris has seen them....I don't know, maybe this does rule Gruden out, but i have a really hard time believing it.

As much as I wouldn't mind having Saban, I don't want BAMA to have another excuse as to why we beat them...

Can you imagine? "You have to take our coach to beat us"

Just don't care about arguing that point when there are plenty of other great options out there!

They are looking for a coach with integrity and salesmanship. Saban has no integrity.

Could be misinformation. Hamilton may not want to say Gruden's name and start a media feeding frenzy like the one that surrounded Saban at the Dolphins. If Gruden is the guy, they will try to keep it quiet until the deal is done.

I dont read that Gruden is is impossible, just that an NFL hire is tougher because their season runs longer.

I also heard them read an article on the Sports Monster this morning from a Tampa Paper and the columnist said no way Gruden is coming to Tennessee. He said Gruden gets frustrated with 6-10 year NFL veterans that have a hard time understanding his complex schemes, no way that would work in college. He also said that Gruden does not have the patience to deal with kids at the college level, or the parents and fans. He said it will not happen, nor would it work.

The sooner something is announced, the sooner my work productivity can get back to normal.

The ONLY concern I have about Gruden is if he can recruit. Can he sit in the homes and look at those player's moms and dad's in the eye and assure them that their boys will be taken care of. This is something that coach Fulmer could do, second to none! He really spoke from the heart. I'm just not sure if Gruden is that kind of guy. Now maybe he won't have to be. He may surround himself with enough staff that will be more than capable of doing this. Still, you have to think that the head coach would need to posess some recruiting ability.

On this Gruden thing. Can anyone name a successful NFL (playoff team) coach that left the NFL to go to college?

If Grudens wife and her family were not from Knoxville I would not give the Gruden rumors a second thought but if you think about it starts to make sense. He is about to have to re build his team, it is full of old timers. He has made references to UT in the past Ie in his book.

His wife bleeds orange and I read his 3 boys are huge vol fans. He owns a ranch in Knoxville area and if you are buying a place to stay when you visit the In Laws you would not buy a ranch with 20 something acres of land. Add to all that that word is he don't want to raise his 3 boys in Tampa, (look at what happened to Tony Dungys son in Tampa) and he knows this job only comes open a few times at best in his lifetime.

I bet his wife is putting huge pressure on him, she has followed him all over the map and supported him and now she wants to come home. Lastly he has not publicly denied it and has every reason to if he is not interested. Come on Jon we will welcome you and your family with open arms.

I'm just gonna think Gruden is conspicuously absent from that list. And that there's a good reason for it. :)

I really think he could be a great recruiter. He has 3 sons, so you know he has to have some kind of patience w/ kids. I think in reality Gruden is probably a man of two halves, an intense hard ass when he's on the field and a family man when he's not; might make for a great recruiter.
