on espn they updated their bracketology today and it has us as a #7 playing Xavier in the first round, a win there would put us against Kansas which I think would be horrible, also they still have Florida as a #2.

I imagine that if you went over to a Kansas board right now, you would see them complaining mightily at the notion of having to play a red hot UT team in the second round.

Win out to the SEC final and you may be more like a 4.
If, after all the problems this year (Lofton's injury, inconsistent play from the frosh), we end up as a #4, they're going to have to canonize Bruce and give him just about anything he wants.

The fact that we're even talking about being in the tourney two years in a row is a sight to behold around Knoxville.

Its fun, isn't it? Speaking as a Florida fan who was just out for a few years when Kruger somehow got them to the FF, I can tell you that it is a lot of fun at the beginning of a season to think in terms of seeding, rather than whether you get in.

And there is no doubt but that in this sport in particular success breeds success. Pearl can point to a lot of upside when going after some of the better players, now. The future is bright for UT, no doubt about it.

It is definitely more fun to be following a team and program on the upswing then to be following a team with high expectations due to past performance.

For an example of that phenomenon, look at our football program and the comments it generates around here. :)

Or the Gator bball team this year, at least right at this moment.

ONly 4 SEC teams make the tourney according to him.

Florida, Vandy, UT and Kentucky

I think a fifth will make it. I would not fall out of my seat to see LSU win the SEC tournament.

Slick Rick Says, The Big Orange is going to be a top 6 seed before it is over. It could be a little higher, but it WILL NOT be any lower.

I think we still need the win this weekend and a couple in the SEC and we are a shoe in for a 6 seed maybe a 5

If we close the season with a win over UGA and 2 wins in the SEC tourney, there's no way we get a 6 seed. That would give us 9 wins in our last 11 games, a top 10 RPI and a top 10 strength of schedule. If we finish that well, I think we get a 4 seed.

I agree with that.
