Well, that's not the way it's advertised. SEC #1,2,3,4,5,6, etc, ACC #1,2,3,4,5, etc. If they advertise a Bowl as SEC #3 vs ACC #2 then that's who should play. I'm loving the new decisions getting rid of the old one's. Tired of this politic BS. Cant wait til the playoff expands to 10-12 teams. Hello Bowls but bye-bye politics.

Doesn't really matter if that's how it's advertised; that's how the conference has gone on record as saying how it will do it now:

SEC announces agreements with nine bowl games - CBSSports.com

The nine bowl games are the Capital One (vs Big Ten/ACC), Outback (vs Big Ten), Music City (vs ACC/Big Ten), Gator (vs ACC/Big Ten), Liberty (vs Big 12), Texas (vs Big 12), Belk (vs ACC), Birmingham (vs TBA) and Advocare V100 (vs ACC) bowls.

The Texas Bowl and Belk Bowl essentially replace the Cotton Bowl and Chick-Fil-A Bowl as both those games will now be access bowls affiliated with the College Football Playoff.

As for how it will be decided which SEC teams play where, the Capital One Bowl will have first choice of available SEC teams -- SEC teams that qualify for the playoff obviously won't be in play. After that it gets a bit interesting.

The SEC will select which SEC schools play in the Outback, Music City, Gator, Liberty, Texas and Belk bowls, not the bowl games themselves.

"This bowl process gives us the best opportunity to address several issues that impact SEC fans, including the creation of intriguing matchups, the accommodation of travel for fans, reduced ticket obligations for our schools and a variety of assignments to help prevent repetitive postseason destinations," said Slive.

As for the Birmingham and Advocare V100 games, they will have the next selections of SEC teams should any eligible teams remain, with the Birmingham Bowl selecting first.

You mean we haven't yet clawed our way into consideration for the Sugar?

The Birmingham Bowl sounds absolutely WORTHLESS. Crap stadium, crap town and probably a crap opponent. Anything but that.

TN historically travels very well. We will take tens of thousands of screaming hillbillys most anywhere for a bowl game. If we were coming off a 9 or 10 win season I think there might be a bit of a let down on attendance. But with it being so long since we've made a bowl and with expectations rising I would guess we get a decent venue as I would expect several venues lobbying the SEC for us. At the end of the day it's up to the SEC to place us I think but I would expect lots of requests. Just my &0.02

Hell, UT could play about 7 schools and make that claim.

I would take any bowl this season. I'd love a matchup with Georgia Tech or a Miami Beach Bowl matchup with BYU which wouldn't happen most likely.

I think the Vols will be in demand from several of the bowls in that pool. They know we are going to buy a lot of tickets no matter where it is after the drought we've had. I'm sure the MCB is salivating at the prospect.

Getting a Bowl at all is a plus for a Tennessee team that hasn't been to one since 2010. I think it'll either be the Music City or Belk Bowl for Tennessee if they go 7-5.

South Carolina will get the Belk Bowl - i think they will beat Clemson

I would love for them to come to Shreveport! I know it won't happen but I can wish!

I know lots hate Birmingham and Shreveport but both of these games are on Saturdays --- which I would like -- no fear of having to work like a Monday or Tuesday
