Vitello is going to make the state of Missouri part of West Tennessee. Don’t ask me how, but he’s going to do it. Just a little bit of in-state recruiting.

Since before Vitello arrived, I have been pretty adamant that Tennessee’s recruiting model should focus on 1) in state recruits and 2) guys from up north who would rather play February-April baseball in Tennessee than up there. We have a friend visiting from Missouri right now and it snowed in his hometown this weekend. Snowed in Illinois too.
There is talent in these places and it should be easy to convince them to come south, given the early college baseball season. Gilbert is a good example.
