New 247 Rankings are in and the Vols now have six (6) in the top 247 with Jalen Hurd being the top followed by TK2, Dillon Bates, Joe Henderson, D'Andre Payne, and Gavin Bryant bringing up the rear.

In order:

Jalen Hurd (22) dropped 10 spots
Todd Kelly Jr. (77) dropped two spots
Dillon Bates (101) gained 103 spots
Joe Henderson (197) gained 67 spots
D'Andre Payne (198) dropped 14 spots
Gavin Bryant (239) gained two spots

And Hurd dropped 10 spots based on what!? Recruiting services are showing just what a game it really is imo.

Jalen has been hurt and hasn't really camped. These other guys have and have impressed. Out of sight out of mind. Once the season plays out it should play out in his favor.

He got hurt recently, only camp he was limited iirc is the opening. He stood out in Ohio. I remember the two announcers mentioned him when talking about who stood out and even mentioned he ran over a LB who they would not name.

Both Hurd and Henderson along with a non UT commit were named MVP's.

As it shouldn't....

I don't understand the uproar in a change in rankings? Would you rather the services have a final ranking for a class that hasn't went through summer camps and their senior season?

The camp circuits, specifically the opening provide the best setting to evaluate recruits... they are competing against the best in the nation... seems legit imo...

If Jalen Hurd gets bumped to a 5*, does that mean he will have a better career at UT?

has UT ever had a 5* running back that ever done any thing Bryce brown is the only one I know was a 5 * and maby Gerald Riggs jr cant remember he had a lot of yards rushing at Red Bank right over 3000 but not as Good as Hurd had plus I think Hurd is big and fast enough to start as a freshmen.

Lewis, I'm sure Henry was rated high too

Wonder if the rankings services are going to go back and adjust their star evals for each of our players after we win our championships like they change their crystal ball predictions after the kids commit?

If memory serves, he (Henry) ran for almost 4100 yards his senior year. At the time was some sort of national record.

ETA...4087 yards on 363 carries.

T Henry was an absolute beast. Not sure there were stars back then, but he would have been a 5
