so i hear he had a good game against arky state!
thats awesome

do you guys think there's any way he could take Ryan Karl's starting spot?
he would definately be an increase in defensive speed and overall athletic ability

I don't think taking Karl out is an answer...possibly putting mckenzie in for a 3-4 look might be more realistic.

mckenzie wasn't smart enough to get the coverages at ss... i doubt he'll take a linebacker spot this year but next year maybe.... this kind of dissapoints me because I was excited about this guy coming in and being a head hunter at safety

thats what tn typically does with big safetys convert them into lbs. I would like to see a big safety on def. somone who could tackle and knock heads off

same here blue... but rumor is mckenzie got big over the summer and wasn't as fast.. so i suppose he is a better fit at lb.... i cant see anyone being any slower than antwan stewart in the secondary though... surely he was faster than him

Antwan knew what he was doing. As far as tackling ability goes, he is Ray Lewis compared to the current UT defense.

There is no way that Karl is losing his job, sorry.

This may be the best defense to get the most players on the field:

DE-Mitchell(possibly Martin later in the year)
DT-Williams
DT-Bolden
DE-Ayers
LB-Mayo
LB-McCoy
ROV-McKenzie
CBs-Johnson/Willingham/Vinson
SS-Berry
FS-Hefney

If Hefney doesn't heal up soon, it may be best to move Willingham to safety and take Hef out.

Here is my best offense for the hell of it:

QB-Ainge
TB-Coker/Creer
HB-Brown
WR-Taylor
WR-Rogers
TE-Cottam
LT-Young
LG-Richard
C-McNeil
RG-McClendon
RT-Foster

If Rogers doesn't start catching the ball again, we might want to find a way for Creer and Coker to be on the field at the same time.

McKenzie isnt really getting moving to linebacker is he? Hopefully, hes just gonna play like a rover and come up close to the line...right?

That's what he's been doing on nickel packages a lot. Blitzing and playing a shallow flat. It's technically a LB but he's been doing a lot more than just what a LB would do.
