We had a facility meeting today. The owners, after saying if anyone of the employees tested positive, they would pay the 40 hour week, wanted us to sign a waiver saying we wouldn’t sue the company if we contracted Covid at work and then a separate waiver to agree to that if we did become infected, we would be off work with no pay. Not one employee signed, you can guess who was leading the charge. I was proud of each of them. I told them, we have to stick together. Now, the employees are demanding a zoom meeting with the owners. You get 2 weeks with 40 hours from the company.
Somewhere I have read its a law now, that they have to pay if you are infected with it -- do those idiots really want someone infected working just to get paid ? In the case of Joes company that slacker abusing the system would be required to get a painful covid test and show proof of itWe had a facility meeting today. Oh, believe me. I’m not standing for it nor is any other employee. This is my line in the sand and I will fight against it.Somewhere I have read its a law now, that they have to pay if you are infected with it -- do those idiots really want someone infected working just to get paid ? I kinda think that's what they're about to do, too many people getting 2 weeks off, but never sick. Our HR lady posted on Facebook yesterday asking for quick tests. When someone asked if she was sick, she said it was for work.Somewhere I have read its a law now, that they have to pay if you are infected with it -- do those idiots really want someone infected working just to get paid ?
