Neverending MBRO memory thread

Talk about temptation, not a girl 🤣. Friend of ours wants me to get a job where they work. It's a Johnson and Johnson company, same pay and better, and better benefits. Same shift, but I'd have to go back to nights, but the temptation is the bonuses. They get around $3,000 every quarter, and got $6,000 at Christmas. 3 weeks vacation to start, 40 hours of sick time, 40 personal, and two floating holidays. It makes you think 🤣, me anyway.
You're trading your skills (and work ethic) in exchange for pay and benefits (and general work environment.) Might be interesting to know if this other company puts a higher value on your work than does your current one.

Idk that I would, but it's tempting 🤣. Clean environment,no dust and grease, but you don't know what you're getting. Here I know, I gotta work hard🤣

Our friend who works there says it's great, but what's good for one, may not be for another. Her nephews wife worked there before they moved to Florida, I may text her about it.

Hard workers (like you) generally appreciate being around other hard workers (not like Motor Mouth and friends.) I never went into management, because I could never understand slackers.

Tiffany really wants me to try and change, pray about it of course. She wants me out of the dust because of my asthma, and me to have my days off back. She doesn't want me to have to work nights, but don't want me working so much. She talked to her niece's mom, she's a supervisor there, and she told Tiffany if I wanted a job she'd get me one. It's a tempting situation for sure

Joe, any company out there who knows you, or learns about you, will be fighting to get you. Better pay + better benefits + better general conditions (if they are) --> this should be the reward for skilled people with strong work ethics. It definitely sounds like a win for your family.

And you’ve given great service to your current employer for however many years. Leaving isn’t disloyalty - people have to do what’s best for them and their families. No situation is going to be magically perfect, but some are definitely better than others.

Wishing you the best, whatever you decide to do. Any employer that gets you should thank its lucky stars, and consider themselves honored.

I agree with the sentiments shared... I think Joe is a grinder and has more energy and drive than most in the workforce. But management loves that and will let him burn out if needed. So... your resume should speak loud and clear about your dedication and effort... Just don't let em know your known as JoeDawg.

Didn't know that J&J plant was still around. I put in there decades ago in Mgt, to no avail.

It's always been an extremely hard place to get on. Pre corona, you'd have to work 2 years as a temp, then they'd consider you.

The lady who is a supervisor texted Tiffany earlier and told her to ask me if I'd be interested in taking a maintenance position there, because they need a couple. Pays a good bit more than the original opening they had talked about. Still not sure what's going to happen, but I said I would as long as there was training.
