I’m curious (nosy), are employees paid during Christmas shutdown, the ones who aren’t working at the plant?

I worked in the lab at VW (in the paint shop). So I didn't get to be off either shut down, we cleaned the tanked and transfer lines and all that. Sucked. OT was nice though.

We get the holiday pay, and they let everyone draw unemployment for the rest of the week. It's good, but they do double up on the insurance on the week back. I normally don't mind because we get to leave, but not this time.

so with everything expiring, compliments our worthless government - will they still be paying people that were exposed or have covid ? Thats something that needed to be extended imo

Left at 4. Got everything covered, but couldn't start blowing everything off cause we had no power/ air. Electricians were there doing work, gonna be a long dusty day tomorrow.
