We'll get destroyed. But what's the point? Alabama is far more talented than Tennessee right now. A 100-point win tonight wouldn't have made me any more confident about the trip to Tuscaloosa.

Well it sure would have done wonders for me. :ermm:

Exactly, just looking at the W and not looking at how we got that W is stupid.

Oh really? I am sure you're the kind of guy that question the legitimacy of our nat'l championship back in '98 because the Gods -- along with the help of Clint Stoerner and Billy Ratliffe -- finally shined upon us.

I'll bet Alabama fans are still up in arms over that 13 point win back in '92 over Louisiana Tech. You know, one of the great college teams in the last 20 years that also happened to win the nat'l championship.

Some of you guys are so dense it's scary.

We were 5-7 last year; we have no QB and no OL; we've played four games under the new regime. We lost to Wyoming less than a year ago, and yet people are already whinging because we didn't beat Ohio by enough. What a bunch of whiny little girls some of you are.

Exactly. We would have lost this game by two or three touchdowns with Fulmer as the coach.

At least someone "gets it." :good!:

I think what's got peoples panties bunched up is the fact that we field a team that is winning the battles up front , which is what normally decides if a team wins or loses. If you are pushing people off the ball and have a strong running game, there's no reason to not be able to throw the ball against Ohio when they are playing the run. Nobody is upset that we aren't blowing people out. It's that we have all the pieces in place to have a very strong team and the execution is painfully sloppy.

we need to be throwing the ball

your exaclty right about blowing Ohio off the ball, so we need the advantage of throwing the ball

Not that many fans on here. Mostly armchair QB coaches and armchair coaches in general. I thought it would be a tough game going in and am happy with the win.
GO VOLS!

You know, you're right. I can't believe all of these none fans on here. Take me for instance, I'm not a Vol fan...no not at all.

By the way, if I was coach, we would be undefeated, win every game by 50 and Jon Crompton would be the best QB in the league...but no one ever listens to me.:cray:

We're starting two former walk-ons on the OL and a guy that has two knees ready to give on the DL. We are painfully thin and not nearly as talented as we've been in the past.

Execution is not the problem. We're the least penalized team in the league and, if memory serves correctly, we've only lost two fumbles in four games.

We've improved somewhat in special teams -- especially when compared to last year, but the kickoff coverage tonight was less than stellar.

Our problem lies in three areas: poor quarterback play, far less talent than we've had in the past, and the fact that we are dangerously thin at so many positions.

Our problems are not the result of poor execution, coaching or bad play calling. It is what it is right now.

Whether we win 4, 6, or 8 games this year isn't going to matter in the long run. This staff will have us "back" sooner rather than later.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Volnation needs to start a SEC team next year with all these "coaches" on here. But then, no one would be able to compete with them.

do you actually understand the idea behind a message board?

Yes I do. I was just hoping for a "fan" message board and not a team bashing exercise from a bunch of coach wantabes. I didn't expect to read so much bashing of the team.

Look we're working a 100 piece puzzle that's missing 8 pieces! We have to work it so lets do the best we can. Hopfully we will find the pieces next year

If by "fan" you mean someone who only sees through orange-colored glasses and has low expectations for the team and believes that a pat on the butt will solve everybody's problems..well, this is the wrong place.

My point exactly

Waaaahhh, you don't like how people act on this message board. Oh here's an idea...don't join or participate or maybe ignore the stuff you don't like. Those are pretty good options.

Looks to me people on here are having fun, why don't you try and do the same.

I don't think he does. He's looking for goose stepping Nazi's that can't think for themselves.

He's right about one thing,I'm a lot closer to being a coach,than being a fan. :)

I do see through orange-colored glasses, that's what fans do. I do not have low expectations for this team, I do however have realistic expectations. I think we can win on any given Saturday. I don't think a pat on the butt will solve all the problems. But, what I do realize is that that these fans aren't going to solve our problems. My blood will always run Tennessee Orange even if that means wearing orange-colored glasses.

Oh, I'm having a large time. I was just reading for a long while but got irritated with all the coaches and players on here. I just got back from watching the game at a bar without the benefit of sound. I was also keeping tabs on the GA game, the AL game, and the FL game. TN didn't look any better or worse than any of the rest of them. But only if the coaches on here were calling our game or the quarterbacks on here were running the team and throwing the passes.
