Never Too Early: Next Years Depth Chart?

Really hope Bone steps up his decision-making next year, which is definitely a possibility. I love lightning-quick PG's and he is the quickest we've had since Tony Harris. UCONN seems to always have 1 or 2.

Room would be an issue if nobody moved on... as it stands today there's not a scholarship opening up for anybody to be added in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

I'm not saying there is currently an open spot, I'm saying if Garland wanted in a spot would be made, that simple.

Lucas Campbell will get some minutes

Jacob Fleschman might actually get his number called at times if they have those games when nobody can hit an uncontested outside shot. I don't know if I've ever seen a walk-on take a redshirt before. He must be a pretty good player... P-5/6 is beyond his pay grade, but maybe he'll be able to contribute as a zone buster or something.

This team won't have 15 losses

Without the benefit of a schedule to look at, I think it will be around 12. Less likely to drop one to the likes of UT-C. Hopefully Vanderbilt will be hurt by graduation. I think that USCe might have a lot of attrition... they're our 3rd home-and-away opponent (glad it's them and not Florida). I'm pulling for KY to lose everybody.

Edit: Actually Vanderbilt only loses Kornett and a RS Sr (Cressler) to graduation. They might be damn good next year.

Kentucky will be playing with mostly freshman next year

I don't think Parker will be here but if he is I don't see where he fits in. He doesn't have a handle or a shot and he's not anywhere big enough to play in the frontcourt.

I've been thinking the same.

Those two at Vandy have been playing well. I think they are big losses, especially considering that Vandy didn't have a great year. They add 2 four star players, but they aren't very highly ranked.

USC loses Thornwell and Notice.

Edit: Saw your later post. Right now, we know we will play at GTech, at Wake Forest, home against UNC in addition to the Battle 4 Atlantis.

I'll do a % returning at some point in the offseason, but I'm gonna make an early prediction and say Tennessee probably will be at the top in minutes, points and rebounds returning next season.

Without seeing the schedule I think 18+ wins and NCAAT bubble should be the expectation.

I believe that towards the end of the season Shembari was the safest play at PG. I believe that Bone has the most upside at PG. Turner has a great play than two bad plays. If someone is able to step up at PG I think this team could surprise some people next year. (Although I believe Shembari was the safest play at PG towards the end of the season, he isn't a true PG)

A (healthy) Fulkerson, Williams, Admiral, Alexander (must continue to develop), and Walker could make for a really nice frontcourt.

If your undersized point guards can't explode down the court on fast breaks and can't consistently distribute the ball and get all of their teammates involved on the offensive end, it makes a lot of sense to insert somebody like Shembari and just get the ball across mid-court and start running the motion. I don't get why Turner and Bone stand in one spot and dribble away so much of the possession without attacking. I wish the PGs could push the pace and put the pressure on defenses. I guess that's not easy for freshmen to do.

Williams, Lew, and Admiral looked good together at the end of the Bama game. Next year if Alexander, Fulk, or Walker can fill in for Lew, I think we could have an effective front court. Admiral and Williams with more conditioning can hit the three and play down low. I think we have just seen the tip of the iceberg with GW. He will only get better as he gets stronger and leaner.

PG: Jordan Bone
SG: Jordan Bowden
SF: Yves Pons
PF: Grant Williams
C: John Fulkerson

Backups:

PG: Lamonte Turner
SG: Shembari Phillips and Kwe Parker
SF: Jalen Johnson
PF: Admiral Schofield and Derrick Walker
C: Zach Kent and Kyle Alexander

Small tweaks for me. Schofield is more of a 4. I like Kent over Alexander because I'm not seeing as much growth out of Kyle as I thought I would. Kent could be a redshirt candidate. As could Walker.

Why would you slot in Walker or Kent over Fulkerson at this point? We really haven't seen any footage on Kent at this time.

There are complete games of footage on Kent in the Kent thread.
Lots of offensive skills around the net but needs a body and some work on D and rebounding.
