Never Thought I'd Say This About The '09 Team

I really don't think so. It's not like they were playing awesome early in the game. This may not be the 11th best team in the nation, but they are a lot better than us. This is probably the #2 team in the ACC. What are we in the SEC? Fifth at best?

Didn't quit. Got beat. There is a difference.

The O-line play was sub-par.

Just goes to show you how far we have to go...

Yea they quit, thats why the D is bowing their neck even though they are getting hammered. We got beat by a much better more talented Va Tech football team.

Too bad the team/coaches didn't show up.
But at least all that recruiting (instead of preparing for the CFA bowl) the coaches did post the UK win payed off....

Oh, NM I forgot we've actually lost recruits since then....

Tennessee quit. Inexcusable. Defense-- no adjustment whatsoever. Offense-- terrible execution and playcalling. Dropped passes-- Inexcusable. Facemask penalties keeeping VA tech drives alive-- Inexcusable. They let us down. Tennessee should refund the money of every fan that made the trip to ATL. There is no excuse for the poor coaching and playing tonight. Tonight it would be great NOT to be a Tennessee Vol....but unfortunately for me, I am a VOL....ashamed of our tem, but still a fan.

We're short on the horses, it's been that way all year. This progr was run into the ground and we're fighting our way back. Play this game 3-4 years down the road and the results will flip.

Football is a game of inches. If moore doesnt drop that pass we are down by 6 and the momentum swings our way. But, we did get beat by a better team and that sickens me to say being its Tech  Have faith in your staff, this is year 1 and one game over .500 is better than two games under!! Happy New Year guys!!

well, we might not have quit, but we sure as hell could've given a better showing than this.

They didn't quit. That's a stupid comment. They were out coached and out played. Gotta give credit to VT. Clearly they are the better team.

They quit. If you didn't see the lazy, lackadaisical attitude throughout the second half, then there's no hope for you -- especially that last touchdown drive.

Offensive and defensive lines played soft. VT is the better team, but they're not 23 points better. They shouldn't be running up and down the field on us. Definitely the most uninspired performance out of this group for the year (sans Ole Miss).

I have all the faith in this staff. This game, however, left a lot to be desired. Believe me, I understand the situation we're in... in terms of talent and depth/injury issues. Trust me... I know.

They didn't quit. If Moore catches that pass we are down 6 in the 4th quarter. We were dominated up front and that led to sacks and turnovers. We couldn't run the ball and Crompton didn't have a chance.

They obviously quit. Moore dropped 2 TD passes for the record. Stocker dropped an easy 1st down. We haven't had any special teams in 10 years. Nobody cared. That is what I can't stomach. Nobody cared and they quit.

I know about 32 NFL coaches that don't appreciate being called quitters.

You run the ball near midfield down by about two TD's with less than 10:00 left.... Yeah, you basically quit.

We just had a guy wideopen by 5 yards for a potential TD that would've cut it to 27-21. One third and long what gives you the best chance? A pass or a give up run play so you can punt it back to a team averaging over 10 yards a play in the second half?

Sorry, but at that point in the game it's too late to play the "let's just try and keep it close" game.

I'm sure a guy is going to get wide open by 5 yards for a TD on third and 20.

Yeah, I got flamed by a couple of people.

I'm not throwing in the towel by any means. I love this staff, Kiffin, his attitude, brashness, and, most importantly, I loathe The Fired Coach. A lot of our woes fall directly at the feet of Stay Puft.

However, there were a plethora of moments tonight that our guys looked like they could've cared less about being there. That was immensly disappointing because I saw far too much of that during the Failmer regime.

People are actually proposing Moore dropped those passes because he quit? Give me a break.
