Yeah, but he's fun.

Without Kiffin, USC wins no national titles. Once he gets the recruits, he'll dominate the SEC and beat meyer and saban on a regular basis. They will not be able to stop Lane's west coast offense and Monte's Tampa 2 D---mark it down!

Pat Forde and a lot of the guys on the ESPN college football staff seem to have 'small-man's syndrome' to anything related to the NFL.

All the NFL experts love Kiffin and what he did with the Raiders, all the College Football experts said it was a complete bust. Who would know better?!?!

Yeah 5150 is alright, he just disagrees to the highest level with most of us.

He does have some points on experience and such things, that would be more valid if Lane had no staff connections. That is were he and I disagree the most, the staff is very important to me.

But he is cool, He comes hard with it, that is what makes him fun.

Mr. Forde on race is totally up the wrong tree,...but to damn funny when somebody outside the VN puts a big spoonful of piss in ya'lls grits. Everybody gonna put him & ESPN on an ignore list now?

ESPN is no friend to UT, and I don't give a damn about the Heisman anymore since they helped to screw this years NFL MVP - he played QB?....Peyton,...remember that guy,....yep-the one that got robbed by those N.E. POS Bastards up in Bristol CT? They hated UT then and they hate UT now. (Majors was robbed on the same principles) So don't get to upset.But......

Kiffin is NOT the best hire we could have gotten. He might grow into a good coach,...but we'll just have to see how he does. So far nothing is FACT that he will be the next Neyland. (who knows,... he could have a couple of bad seasons during the next 17 and get fired before he breaks Neylands record?) Many of the points made by Forde are easy to defend and are not necessarily made just so he will get some extra band width from his haters, the points are strong and valid. But on another thread in the VN, people are claiming 9 or 10 wins next year, much harder to defend that don't ya think?......is objectivity anywhere on here?

i love how forde said kiffin's job at USC was the "cushiest", so what does that makes dan mullen's job at florida? if the mullen hire at miss state was good, then how is kiffins hire at ut not?

also, as for 5150 blaming kiffin for USC not winning any championships under his reign, that's like saying it's eric berry's fault ut lost so many games this year. kiffin's offense was the brightspot for usc when he was there, just as eric berry and the defense was the brightspot for ut this year.

If Auburn hadn't hired one of the strangest choices ever, none of us would have to be dealing with this on the level ESPN is putting it on. Even Charles said he wouldn't be giving this such a hard look if they had hired a winner, regardless of their color.

I generally like Pat Forde, but that doesn't mean I think his analysis is always watertight. Here, it was not.

I'm starting to think maybe Kiffin was the best option due to his incredibly impressive staff and recruiting prowess. Name me one other candidate who could've brought better quality players in here? And he's surrounded himself with coaches who can actually coach. So I don't necessarily see a better prospect out there anymore...

Some posters believe it is all about the Hc.
Which is important, but know one talks about the staff when they slam the hire. Just Lane.
