Neutral site SEC games should be eliminated

How long until we’re forced to play in the Titans’ stadium against Vandy every year?
Who is going to force us? No one is forcing UGA, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma to play the neutral site game. A side note, I do hope they move the UT Vandy game into the new indoor stadium when we play in Nashville every other year.

Not sure about that but they should get back to calling the Florida/Georgia game The Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party and bring back the Beer Barrel. We can play the game in the parking lot of the Buffalo Trace Distillery. They serve booze at games now—let’s not pretend that college sports are trying to distance themselves from alcohol.

Probably be a little more comfortable in late November when it’s typically cold and rainy.

If our commissioner said he wants 4 year players to experience all SEC venues, then the neutral site for conference games must be eliminated. Georgia should have to play in the swamp, Florida should have to play between the hedges and Oklahoma and Texas must play on each others home field.
I’d be ok with Georgia and Florida playing all their games on the road…

Home field advantage does matter. These games miss out with that factor. Not right or fair for everyone else.
They also never get full home field advantage either and every other year, they give up a home game. It’s a wash and I’m not sure why anybody cares.

Seems like a silly argument to me. It cannot be an advantage to both teams to play at a neutral site. That’s an impossibility. To argue that a team might take a playoff spot from the Vols is equally implausible. The number of factors that determine the outcome of a game are near infinite. To go back in time and say that the Gators would have beaten Georgia if they’d played in the Swamp that year and that outcome would have then led to the Vols being ranked over the Bulldogs and getting a spot in a playoff game is ridiculous. What about the weather at said stadium? What about the turnover in the 4th quarter that may or may not have happened if the sun wasn’t in someone’s eyes?

Fellas, we get to play Vandy every freakin’ year. Just whistle right past the neutral site graveyard, will ya. We get an extra home game in Nashville every single year. Nobody else has that level of advantage right now and believe me, we’ll hear about it every year we make the playoffs and some other SEC team will an equal record or one more loss than us doesn’t. Frankly, it’s a far better argument than a Vols fan trying to argue that a stadium filled with a 50/50 mix of fans is bad for the game.
Must be Basilly-o or one of his bubba bros.

Yep. Alcohol commercials are everywhere along with gambling. Absolutely silly to keep the beer barrel trophy on the shelf.

Keep the neutral site games as long as the schools involved are satisfied with the arrangements. Who knows, we and Ole Miss may want to play in Memphis again sometime.
