Neutral site SEC games should be eliminated

Seems like a silly argument to me. It cannot be an advantage to both teams to play at a neutral site. That’s an impossibility. To argue that a team might take a playoff spot from the Vols is equally implausible. The number of factors that determine the outcome of a game are near infinite. To go back in time and say that the Gators would have beaten Georgia if they’d played in the Swamp that year and that outcome would have then led to the Vols being ranked over the Bulldogs and getting a spot in a playoff game is ridiculous. What about the weather at said stadium? What about the turnover in the 4th quarter that may or may not have happened if the sun wasn’t in someone’s eyes?

Fellas, we get to play Vandy every freakin’ year. Just whistle right past the neutral site graveyard, will ya. We get an extra home game in Nashville every single year. Nobody else has that level of advantage right now and believe me, we’ll hear about it every year we make the playoffs and some other SEC team will an equal record or one more loss than us doesn’t. Frankly, it’s a far better argument than a Vols fan trying to argue that a stadium filled with a 50/50 mix of fans is bad for the game.

We should kick out Mizzou , A&M , Oky and Texas maybe even Arky and the chicken chokers too and bring back the real SEC
Great Idea, NOT!! You want Tulane and Sewanee back? They were original members of the SEC. You want the car from 1933? Are you still dialing in on AOL? Personally, I sent a text to my son on my smartphone this morning, and glad I had the tech to do so!

I always thought it would be cool to have UF/UGA do year 1 in Athens, Year 2 in Gainesville and every 3rd year in Jax. It’s not about a competitive advantage for me and I’m not about changing traditions, I just think the scene in Athens or Gainesville for that game would be insane. I feel the same for OU vs Texas.

Lived in FL for 15 yrs and Gator fans told me the game was moved to Jacksonville because things were getting too rowdy and ugly for visiting fans at the home stadiums. Guess the neutral site helped with that and as far I know both sides fans are now happy with the situation. Played in the Jaguars stadium on the water, great setting.

Just wait till one of those teams takes a playoff spot from us. I would prefer to play our “classified” away game with Georgia at Titan Stadium!
If we don't make the playoffs it will because of something we did or a game we lost not some neutral site game. Either way, 1 team wins,1 loses regardless if it's at home,on the road or a neutral site game.

until last year, Ga didn’t have to play Bama during the reg season and never had to go to the Swamp, where even poor UF teams seldom lose SEC games at home. Definitely an advantage not to have to do either.

We should finish a game against Georgia within one score of them before we complain about how easy their schedule is. The biggest advantage Georgia has had over us is that instead of having to play Georgia every year, they have gotten to play Tennessee.

If our commissioner said he wants 4 year players to experience all SEC venues, then the neutral site for conference games must be eliminated. Georgia should have to play in the swamp, Florida should have to play between the hedges and Oklahoma and Texas must play on each others home field.

Respectfully disagree.

You be you. I’ll be me. I discuss everything, which includes scheduling.

10000% agree. Complaining about other teams neutral site games sounds like butthurt but there isnt even a good reason why.

WLOCP and RRSO seem to be agreeable to the schools involved and their fans. Tennessee hasn’t played a neutral site conference game in quite awhile and has done well in the occasional neutral site kickoff classics against OOC opponents.

100% agree. It is not worth the loss of a home game, travel time/logistics, etc. I would love to see them eliminated but $$$$ and TV calls the shots in this game
