Netflix

I'm a Nye fan and I can't stomach it.

I'm a fan as well and I was disappointed with the first episode. Haven't watched another since. While it's not a kids show, it seems like it's themed for your average scientifically illiterate American, I'm just not a fan of the lack of sophistication in this show.

I remember watching Neil Degrasse Tyson on cosmos, and that was absolutely phenomenal.

They allowed the nuclear power guy to be rebutted saying "it will take 30 years to build enough plants" but they didn't rebut the renewable guy with "only 4% of the world's energy can be supplied by wind, solar, and tide". So disappointing.

I don't want to derail this thread but I would like to know where you get that 4% when counties like Spain and Germany are already in in the 13-20% range on just wind alone. Even in the US there are a few states that are getting over 25% from wind.

Not sure if it's new to Netflix but it recently popped up near the top of my suggested shows.

American Experience: War of the Worlds.

Short documentary about the 1938 radio broadcast by Oren Wells that had people running for the hills thinking it was real.

I will check out the other Experience episodes.

I watched this and enjoyed it

the documentary itself is not the most well done, but the subject is very interesting.

I was very disappointed when Nye used "people just don't want it" as a reason against nuclear power.

I didn't care for it much at first but the last episode of Season 2 was great and now I'm hooked. Going to see what season 3 brings tonight.

It gets better and better, that's where it really picked up though. IMO I finished season 3 earlier, probably watch a couple more episodes tonight.

What's a good show to pound episodes? I've seen everything worth watching.

Depends on what you like I guess but all of these are on Neflix:

The Get Down
Master of None
Lovesick
Love
Kimmy Schmidt
Archer
Black Mirror
Chewing Gum
Wet Hot American Summer First day of camp
Spartacus (first season)
The OA

Finished Rectify, great show. Idk how I feel about how it ended. One plus to being done with it, no more Teddy and Tawney. Though I fast forwarded through every scene it just had them in the last season.
