Netflix

netflix is announcing 30 show this year. they're going to need a netflix just for netflix shows. does anyone even watch DVD's through netflix?

Interesting. Why?

It's about a guy who did 18 years in prison and he spent so much time in his head about it he sort of goes crazy and he doesn't even remember if he did the crime or not. The show is about how the whole incident affected him, his family, and to some degree their small town.

Finally got to watch the last season of Rectify. It was about as good as it could have been, with a pretty amazing final episode.

Start to finish it's one of the best shows ever that no one watched. I honestly think this is one of those shows where the genius will be appreciated years later.

I've never watched it.

Been watching Bill Nye Saves the World.

Most of the topics aren't exactly ground breaking but it's entertaining.

The GMO episode was cracking me up when they went to a CA Farmers Market and asked people what their concerns were. Then the vaccine episode had a woman with twins who changed her views on antivacs after her kids got rotovirus then immediately followed by measles (both preventable with vaccines).

Watched BackCountry last night as I was in a thriller/horror mood.

.....I don't think I'm ever going camping again.

That guy should have left that chick at home. I live the part where the guy is being mauled and she has the forethought to get the engagement ring. Lol. Based on a true story btw.

Casting Jon Benet is a great doc. Very unique way of telling the story from those who live in Boulder and how it affected the community.

I'm a Nye fan and I can't stomach it.

The whole thing felt forced and awkward, but all in the wrong way. What the hell was with the 5 min skit that involved the Indian "comedian" roasting "white people"? Not to mention the other atrocities he chose for subjects, like the gender episode. The show was all talk and no substance. The guest panels were laughable and the pacing felt amateur. Billy Nye the Sell Out Guy, oh how the mighty have fallen. 3/10 :eek:lol:

Don't forget the "My Sex Junk" song. That was pure cringe.

I'd agree with White People roast as far as context of the show but it was kinda funny within the context of the sound therapy guy. Why did he have all the Buddha statues?

The gender episode was one of the more enlightening for me sense it's not a topic I actively research.

I think the show was trying to dumb things down and act as more of an intro to some topics but not an in depth exploration of the topics. It seemed aimed at Millennials.

Not sure if it's new to Netflix but it recently popped up near the top of my suggested shows.

American Experience: War of the Worlds.

Short documentary about the 1938 radio broadcast by Oren Wells that had people running for the hills thinking it was real.

I will check out the other Experience episodes.

I like Sense 8 season 2 so far. It may be better than season 1. The christmas special was so dumb I was turned off to the whole show, but they got me back.
