Netflix

I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed the last couple of seasons. The best were the first ones though. Whatever season with John lithgow was the best.

Yeah they had very strong guest stars. And yeah that was a great season....

3 episodes. It's good. Not overly groundbreaking or requiring much thought.

But definitely entertaining so far. And I agree about the production...visually it's really good.

Same here.

Hope the whole thing isn't "crisis narrowly avoided at the last minute" action like each episode has been so far. Could use more story.

Took me a while to figure out I recognized Maureen (mom) from Deadwood. Also, an interesting choice for Dr. Smith.

Got a smile towards end of Ep 1 with a specific catch phrase and original theme music moment.

Maureen also in house of cards...

I got five into it last night. Keeps to the spirit of the original series, but with enough "changes" to keep you interested. Episode 5 really pushes into the realm of "Danger, Will Robinson" of the original series. No spoiler, but it is an interesting twist.

I feel there is still a lot of backstory to tell especially:

with the estranged husband/wife situation. They kind of breezed over it already, but not a lot of details.

And why was Robot attacking in the first place? Wonder what story there is for that. I hope they expand on that before the series is over.

I'm on the fence with the June/Dr. Smith antagonist. She's a crafty, manipulating *****, but I'm not entirely sold on her as the bad girl yet.

But really not liking the Victor douche. (he shows up in Ep. 4/5, so minor spoiler, he's a douche)

I like the chemistry of the cast and this Mina Sundwall girl who plays Penny is truly talented. I love the sarcasm and wit she brings to the family. I also like the fact the family is, well, ordinary so to speak. No supermodel good looks and no over the top craziness with skills except the Judy Robinson Doctor thing.

And of course, Robot is a badass. Kinda quiet though...

So far, pretty decent. Nothing overwhelmingly awesome about it, but nothing to drive me away. It does kind of have a Terra Nova feel to it to an extent without all the complicated background that's never fully explained.

Agree with all this. Robot needs to speak up... intriguing for sure.

I'm 7 in now and convinced Dr. Smith is bad. Still haven't revealed what mom traded in exchange for getting Will on the trip. Enjoying the Don West character. Agree on Penny, my fav of the bunch.

She's bad, I agree. But it's almost...forced? I don't know if that's the right term, but it's almost like she's going out of her way to be this overarching bad girl. And why someone hasn't punched her right in the mouth yet is a mystery to me.

Yeah, I'd like to know about that trade as well.

Episode 8 is going to blow your mind. Total cliffhanger that would have annoyed the hell out of me had they done it in the final episode.

The series isn't a complete reboot of the original since it's not just the Robinsons, but the spirit is there for certain. Adding additional characters like Don West has added value to the show in my opinion. I do get this feeling

there will be a romance there with Judy eventually if they go to a Season 2 and don't kill him off

Finished the season - good overall. Anticipating Season 2.

basically took the first season to separate them from the others and make it just them. Some unnecessary drama (eg. Will drifting into space only to be miraculously rescued by his dad on a harpoon while somehow Don was already in the J2). They could spend more time on exploring the back story and having dialogue than moving from one narrow escape to another - Game of Thrones is excellent at this while this show is quite repetitive in the danger/escape scenarios. Still can't suss out the link between what mom did to get Will in the program and the current situation. The alien technology, more alien robots coming to retrieve it and Christmas star link is interesting.

the new Dr. Smith's name (June Harris) appears to be a tribute to June Lockhart (original mom) and Jonathon Harris (original Dr. Smith). Just a guess

The Honeymoon Stand Up Special. 4/5

Episodes 1 and 3 are both better than 2. It's a husband/wife duo. She was up first and was really funny, he was ok, and the third episode is both of them and they bring couples up on stage and roast them.

"It was so nice of you to stay with him after Blue's Clues got canceled."

The wife, Natasha Legerro created, writes and stars in Another Period on Comedy Central its a funny ass show.

Agree with this as the series kind of breezed over some of the back story and expected you to put 2 and 2 together.

Like the Christmas Star idea. They mentioned there was no fallout in one episode, then brought the alien tech in another episode and then the robots taking back their tech in another and kind of expected the watcher to make that connection it wasn't a bolide at all. I mean, I paid attention enough to make the connection, but there was still some back story there meant to be told. I understand they only had 10 hours to work with, but a couple of minutes of explanation would go a long way in filling in the holes so to speak.

Like the Alpha Centauri colony...how did that work? Did they just up and move? Explore first? Announce it to the world?

And we never did find out how Mom cheated to get son into the expedition. Quick blurb on that and little else.

I wasn't entirely thrilled with the Robot ending and bringing him back over to the light. Plus, how are they bringing him back in additional seasons if they do push forward? It just seemed forced in my opinion.

I still think Smith needs a punch in the face. Still kind of trying too hard to make her into the villain. She sucks, we get it, but there doesn't need to be as much manipulating and whatnot going forward.

I felt the tar pit tangent was wasted to an extent. It was a neat segue into getting Mama and Papa Robinson back together fully, but I felt it distracted from the story overall. You know they're going to escape by coming up with some wild idea, but it felt forced to me.

I did like how they ended it so to speak and agree with that point. Specifically how they got the Robinsons away from the group to begin their own journey.

Penny is still my fav. Exceptional job by that young lady. Actually, I liked the entire chemistry of the cast.

They haven't guaranteed a season 2 yet, but supposedly they are writing the script if Netflix hacks off on it. There needs to be significant back story written into it and not as much escape from the monsters just to encounter more monsters as you said.
