Net Neutality

I'm cautiously watching to see how ditching the rules will affect things. As long as private ISPs are not censoring the web, it should be okay.

As stated though, many of us, especially in rural areas, only have access to one ISP. So hopefully there won't be any shenanigans.

You are screwed.

Let's say you have one car dealership in town and they carry everything and do it on order. You go in, pick the car, and they have it delivered.

But it turns out the dealership is owned by Hyundai. so when you go in and pick a Ford, or a Honda, or a BMW, they'll order it for you. But, bummer, they don't have any transport trucks going there for a bit, so it will be 6 months. On the flip side, you can buy this Sonata and it will be here tomorrow.

Is this scenario a common occurrence? Please point to any situations that this scenario played out before net neutrality.

So let's give more power to the government that's so easily shaken down. I would say that this is a logical black hole.

"more power to the government" ?

The current legislation keeps the internet neutral and open for everyone.

So you're response is, "just don't have internet."

C'mon.

Internet connectivity is no longer a luxury in today's age, it's a necessity.

Food, shelter and clothing are necessities. The internet is not. Please point to the law that requires internet access.

What an easily manipulated rabble of rubes you are. Your polical master sounds the alarm and you wet your pants out of fear. Dance puppets! Dance.

The men who tamed the frontier didnt have net nuetrality worries. They never complained about internet. If it's good enough for them, it is good enough for me.

The government already has their claws well into this industry. Comcast, AT&T, Charter, Time-Warner, and the others running cable or fiber have to work with governments over the right of ways. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobil, and the others have to work with the government to use the airwaves.

If the ISPs abuse their customers the electric utilities roll out a competing product. Those are all heavily regulated by various governments.

Corporations aren't the Boogiemen. It's the governments taking their cuts and exerting their control.

About that.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How does my spell check know when im throwing shade? Frustrating it allows a misspelling which neuters my sass.

Regardless, take your Midol. This "issue" is a money/power grab. Your precious internet will still be there to serve all of your disgusting needs.

Pointing out the obvious is fear mongering? Companies don't lobby the sht out of legislators for years because the efforts will allow them to remain revenue neutral.

If this isn't anything more than money grubbing shakedown, I'll be the first to say I was wrong.

My apologies, you said "had" not "bad", but still yes, this is fear-mongering:

Prepare thine self for sadness.

When folks need a paid subscription to Pornhub to watch your favorite brazzers flick at something other than a 144p bit rate , sht will hit the fan.

And then your point that big corporations lobbied for this...that is not an argument. That is a scare tactic. Big corporations are lobbying for net neutrality, too. Net neutrality should be supported/opposed for its merits.
