NegaVols Never Amaze Me

VFL is correct. I agree with you. 5 years ago, no one would take the coaching job at Tennessee. Only CBJ. Today, Florida was favored and at home. Refs did not call numerous penalties including holding on the last play. I saw a gator hit Kelly with his fist and there was no call, it was quick and not many people saw it. It still took a miracle for those ah's to beat us today. and we the Tennessee Vols in the end will finish better than florida. and we beat umass by 40 next week. I expected us to go 7 - 6 this year, after this game we go 10 - 3 IMO. Thank you VFL! Rest of you get a grip there is 10 more games to go. GOVOLS. I am proud of you win or lose.

It's too early in the season to predict the final standings in the SEC East. Kentucky pulls it out against E Kentucky and beats Carolina that beat NC State. Then Mizzou gets blown out by Purdue that played better the week before against Carolina. IMO Vanderbelt and UGA look the strongest in the East RIGHT NOW.

It's not being negative at this point, it's being realistic. Butch Jones is paid to do a job. And he has proven himself incapable of doing that job. I don't dislike the man or hate him like some seem to, it's just he's getting paid millions to do a job he's not qualified for. It's not about the loss, it's the coaching performance.

Dude I've been with you and would have posted this same exact post until tonight. Every season I get excited and try to think positive and think maybe, just maybe Butch has finally learned from his past mistakes. Maybe he's learned how to manage a game. But it never comes. This was the motherload of coaching blunders. I've never seen anything like it and the fact that the same mistakes were repeated multiple times throughout the game just solidifies it for me. The fact that he can walk to the podium and put the blame on "poor execution" and "missed opportunities" makes me completely dislike the man. He basically blamed the players as he's done for 5 years now. A real head coach would take ownership.

I am not defending his in game decision making. But he said this is on me. How is that not taking ownership ? East is so bad and getting LSU may be a break this year. This team is talented and could and probably will win eight games. What this did today is shake my faith that Butch can win a championship here. But will still be pulling for this team regardless who the coach is on the sideline. We have the talent.

I'm in no one's "corner". I support my coach until the facts are in. I don't let others sell me their opinions as such.

Not trying to sell you anything.

Another question; Any idea when you might have enough evidence?

I'm honestly not trying to be a smart a$$. I am genuinely curious about your opinion here..

Nope try again. I'm 28 and rarely shop at Walmart because they have declined over the years. I'm not ok with mediocrity either but let me know if your manager at Walmart is hiring so I can send a felon your way to get a job.

Swing and a miss:lolabove:

I'm a proud 'Nega'...in that I only want the best for Tennessee...and I have never wavered on my desire for Butch to be fired. Even when there were only a few of us vocal Negas left. I am not happy that we lost to that terrible Florida team. But if it took that loss to convince the majority of fans that Butch is a joke, well...means to an end I guess.

Should have a general idea before the SC game.

I know he's set fire to all of our games, but he's never personally come to my house and burned it down, so it's cool. I still support him.

The only video I had seen of his press conference at the time I wrote this was the one of him blaming it on execution and mistakes. I'm glad he took ownership because he should. But he also turned around today and laid the blame on Larry Scott so he's still not getting it. I'll always pull for the team, but I won't accept a coach that can't win championships. This is Rocky Top, not Vandy or Kentucky. We should be competing every single year, and instead in Butch's 5th year our Vols are a joke to every single media outlet. After a decade of this crap I'm done. I want a real coach.

The defense was setup for 30 yard pass to where Florida could get in FG range. Go back and watch 2015 because its the same play they used to beat us where Calloway caught a hitch, made a guy miss and burned us for a TD. Its literally the same play. Franks has a big arm and made a big play by avoiding the pressure and chucked it down field to Cleveland. I do agree that Butch shouldve ran it on 1st and GL but HE isn't the one who threw into double coverage and got picked off 3 times. You can't blame him for that. HE also didnt miss 3 FGs. Those are points given up by our kickers and Dormady. I have watched him try to fit the ball into double and triple coverage every single game and its killing our drives. I say Guarantano needs to get some reps because at least he can run if the play breaks down.

What do you think now?

Was pretty much out after the UMass game. Left out the hope they represented against UGA. Didn't fantasize a win but wanted them to show up. Butch lost the team after Florida.

Pretty much sums up my feelings. The UMASS game, for me, was worse than the Florida game. Then yesterday, as Joe Kenda says, "oh myyyy".. Honestly don't think I can watch another CBJ coached game.
