Well...it seems that negativity is playing well on the Volnation. I have never read so much negative stuff during my years on here.

Why don't all of you just can the negative stuff and try to find positive things to say that will help our players, coaches, administration, and even us, the fans, get things back in order and on the way to the top of the SEC again.

AND I really am getting tired of the News-Sentinel telling us about all the recruits we are losing. I don't give a rats arse about the dudes that decide they don't want to be Vols! Let 'em go wherever and do their thing.

I am excited about the athletes that WANT to come to U.T. and be a Vol! We will be back on top and I am thankful for all the student athletes, parents, and friends that want to be a part of that.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In your opening post where you lament about the negativity circulating the VN, you commence to attacking the KNS with the vengence of a chained junkyard dog. Nice...

rasputin...sombody else has that Churchill quote as a sig...I'm not trying to say anything but I just saw it somewhere else and I would want to know if it were me. On the subject at hand...I feel the same way surreal, and totally agree about KNS( and I didn't see any negativity that rasputin pointed out). It seems they never have anything positive to report...there has been several new coaches hired in the last two days and no in depth reporting on the guys except Monte. I'm guessing it's because they have an agenda and that they're out of the proverbial loop. From my POV it seems that the volnation is still trying to mend itself from the split that happened in November. We'll get through it because when it comes time to snap on the chinstraps we're all Vols and have a common goal to unite for.

Are you serious? The negativity on this board during Fulmer's last few years was absolutely unbearable. I've never seen such hatred and callous behavior anywhere on any message board. The last month has been a ray of sunshine for me. Yeah, there are a few detractors who seem to be trying to rain on everyone else's parade, but they are the minority now. Most seem to like the direction this program seems to be going in.

Instead of pointing out the sparse negativity, I would rather praise those that are bringing optimism and positivity to the board. It's definitely made for a much better atmosphere than it has been in the past.

I agree with the part about the recruits. If they dont want to be here then good riddance. Dont let the door hit you on the way out. I want players who really will give their all for Tennessee.

I guess it's all in how you take things. I don't feel negativity coming from the board since Kiffin was announced. The issues people do bring up are understandable in my opinion. And I tend to ignore the sky is falling type poster anyway.

So I guess I don't really have a purpose to posting in this thread.

I have only been on this board for a few months now (maybe 2). I have tried to start on here by doing more reading than typing.

The arguing between some of you ranges from absolutely silly to down right aggravating. Sometimes I get on a thread that's 25 pages or so and a good portion of it is jabs at one another.

Then it happens....someone from another school gets on here and attacks UT. All of the infighting goes out the window until that a** has been run back to his site; tail between his legs. That's when it hits me..we are a family.

We don't always see eye to eye; sometimes we despise each other. But when it comes down to it we are all passionate UT fans and want what's best for our school and our team. My brother used to beat me to a pulp when we were kids, but no other kid in the neighborhood would dare hit me. Why? Because you don't mess with family.

Who cares if the guy's pro Fulmer or anti Fulmer. Who cares if he thinks Kiffin is the next coming or Kiffin is the worst decision ever? He's still a fan that wants to see UT win. And when game time rolls around you're going to rally with him to support our team; our family. And when we win you're going to celebrate with him no matter what he thought about the coaching situation last year.

It seems to me from my reading we all have the same destination in mind; conference and national titles. We just don't all agree on how to get there. I personally don't care how we get there, but I look forward to seeing you all at the top!

Well to help combat that negativism our Nashville paper did a good job in this mornings Sports. First David Climer has a great article on Kiffin and Monte. Second they have the full list of the current recruiting class and some info about each. From what I read we're in pretty good shape and the praise keeps coming for Lane and staff

It is time to start being more positive. We have a great staff being assembled in knoxville. I think things are about to be headed in the right direction.

QFT...sending Adkins to Syracuse did more for me than chugin a 6 pack and a quarter can dip of snuff. I'm ready to be open minded, positive, and patient.:p

Very well done. You haven't been around long, but let me assure you that I don't toss around praise very often.

Excellent observation........

Some of the jabs you speak of are ribbing between folks who just pick at others for the fun of it. Can't have thin skin on the board. Post more often and keep up the Orange faith.

All the ppl giving negative remarks are the ones that did not want kiffin and company here and are just trying to find a reason to make themselves feel better

I don't mind valid negativity. Heaven forbid ths board turns into a "Groupthink Board" and everyone agrees all the time. Sorta like our "Groupthink Football Administration", see where that ultimately landed. Now,the new coaching staff will have the ongoing task of digging the program out of the black hole it is currently in.

No doubt dan. I haven't felt this good about our team in some time. Phil had me in a state of apathy i just couldn't shake. Free at last, free at last. I'll be making some trips to knoxville this year, starting with the orange and white game. It will be good to get back up there. I was there last in 2005 for the vandy game. I left that game so mad i made a promise to myself i wouldn't return until the whole staff was gone. Its time, its time:yes:
