I had 1 felony and 3 misdemeanors thrown out in Tuscaloosa Al due to being profiled prior to the traffic stop. So yes, it happens. The same way a white kid driving a black kid around in the hood "looks" suspicious. But yall are right, we live in a perfect world and 99% of people go against their human nature to stereotype and profile. Silly me!

I am not trying to hijack this thread from you guys. I hate the race card being thrown around by a generation who has really never seen the extent of a real race problem.

Agree they haven't been exposed to the racism and to the racial tensions that existed in the 60's and even 70's, But I work with inner-city youth on a daily basis and without a doubt race stills plays a huge factor once pulled over to what extent a normal traffic stop ends up much more. To deny that is naive. But these young men being African American are well aware of this and therefore it is even more stupid to have loaded weapons and such and then to go out and speed. Regardless what I tell these young men on a daily basis is it doesn't matter if they profile you if you aren't breaking the law you have nothing to worry about. No one to blame, it aint because they are black, poor, or for any other reason they are in trouble. IT is because they choose to break the law, plain and simple
Great point, with the exception of what the cops who profile ppl are doing is equally wrong. (My above posts will show that I don't nec think that's the case here but it is many times)

Yes it does. View my post. I said they likely were smoking. And yes they were pulled over for speeding. Does that mean that Officer X didn't see four tatted up "thugs" and decide he wanted to know what was inside they're car? No, does It mean he did? Also no, see my post. BUT THIS GOES ON, and its wrong...I was in line at an airport security line, awaiting check(post 9/11) when a white woman was asked to step to the side to be better checked, she made a scene screaming that this wasn't fair and she didn't "LOOK like a terrorist" I couldn't help but think, what does a terrorists LOOK like? Last time I checked they look like someone with a bomb, ect. She was clearly saying that bc she wasn't of middle-eastern desent that she couldn't possibly be a terrorists. Car salesman routinely (to their dismay often) size up the "ups" that pull onto their lot. -big suv=money , old clunker=bad credit. Waiters and waitresses choose table (when possible) that look to be good tippers, ie (not blacl people/rednecks). I can go on and on with proffessions and examples. Yall must live in one hell of a community-any houses still for sale in the Garden of Eden? THaAAAANKS

Why is it wrong to profile? It is not racism when statistics show race x commits x on a regular basis. There is NOTHING wrong with profiling a certain race to give cops a better idea of who to look for for certain things.
White people are profiled daily when say a serial killer is loose. But, I guarantee you have no problems with that.
Dude you went way in the wrong direction here...
White women have committed a total of...wait for it....ZERO terrorist acts against the United States. EVER...
It is beyond insane that our PC BS keeps us unsafe by stopping everyone equally.
I am all for constitutional criminal procedure, I think the war on drugs is racist in its inception and its prosecution, but FREAKING A! TSA is a bunch of complete idiots and it makes us all less safe that they waste millions of hours of peoples lives post 9/11 running searches on everyone.
Yes I do.

My point is not to know the ins and outs of the TSA, however I do know that at least in atlanta, federal authorities are on hand and downstairs working hand in hand with the TSA. The womans statement was what I was pointing out. Her mindset. What exactly is a "terrorist" act and what isn't. Bc women who happen to be white have done some "terrible" things in this county.

.
By the way, I have friends who are white black and hispanic with tattoos visible on their face and/or neck and they are ALWAYS hassled more by police. DWTIGRP (Driving while tattooed in gang related places) will always result in more police hostility than not, no matter what color you are.
The whole " I think I smell MJ" is a way for cops to search who they want. What's gonna happen, r they gonna prove in court that the cop didn't "smell" MJ? Its a way for Police Officers to abuse their rights to search. Welcome to the Police State 2010. (It happens every day to young black people driving, all accross our country. Although more prevalent in the southeast)

Edit: this is not to say they weren't smoking prior to being pulled over, likely they were. But the misuse of probable cause in 1000's of cases (1 involving myself)is a loophole, any good lawyer/DA will tell you that.
Good that you profess to use no profiling while you work(although I'd beg to differ, but for the sake of argument well say you never have) Do you really believe that this doesn't happen?? 15 years and you haven't seen this happen? Cmon now buddy?
