Negative Fans

Our fan base is no more negative than any other. Fact is we were really bad for almost a decade, but anyone that dared point out reality were called negavols.

As for the opening game, we played terrible and were very fortunate Appy St missed an extra point and a 42 yd FG, not to mention us being able to recover a fumble in the end zone in OT.

I'm very grateful we pulled that game out but with our ranking and expectations after several high level recruiting classes, we shouldn't be in the position to lose to teams like Appy st.

If calling a spade a spade = being a negavol then so be it.

Well I also seem to remember we dropped a sure TD and muffed a punt Sutton catches 100% among other missed opportunities to score. Don't pretend that it only goes one way. I knew the game would be closer then most thought and with our mistakes it made it way closer then needed to be.

My one and only major concern was o line play. Everything else is fixable and focus related mistakes. I want to see our O line play when we run our normal misdirection and open offense but I still don't think they are good enough to line up one on one and block well vs good d lines.

Ive seen some threads on here recently wondering whether negative fans can affect a program. Some of us wonder whether the Vols have an especially negative fanbase. Well, for context, head on over to landthieves.com today, an excellent Oklahoma football forum. Two of the most recent threads there today are titled "**** you Stoops" and "this team sucks." This is a team coming off a 12 win season where they made the CFP with a coach who wins 10 games a year like clockwork and has a natty.

My point is, dont think we are the only fanbase with negative fans. Every team has them, even perennial top 10 programs. We are not significantly affecting the program. To think we are ignores that every other big time program has their own vocal negative faction.

BS.

Florida in a 10-7 game midday through 3rd quarter with one of the worst teams in football and they aren't melting down at all.

Don't be a *****.

Can you please quote me where I said the entire season was useless? Pointing out the abhorrent level of preparation our oline seems to have gotten from Don Mahoney, yet again, is far from calling off the entire season.

I'm sorry that you can't bear to read anything neutral or negative about the Vols, but no one makes you post in or read threads here. If your enjoyment of college football is so endangered by what you deem to be "negavol" posts, then for your own sake you should probably avoid Volnation forums altogether.

This is what the Ignore button is for bro. :p

I don't mind a little pissing and moaning every now and then, but I also like to change the channel, leave the room or do without electricity for a month or so sometimes.

I don't have anybody on ignore that they know of. i.e. I don't need a button....

Given our performance on Thursday, and the fact that we've only one game to talk about, what should we be talking about on here?

We can go over the positives in about 30 seconds. Shoop made half time adjustments, we didn't miss as many tackles as the first half. Unfortunately the negatives list is much longer.

Heaven forbid you come on the Vols football forum and give your opinion about the football program.

No kidding. Some people here take criticism of some aspect of the program to be a personal insult and I just don't understand that. We all love the Vols, but some people are blind followers and cannot tolerate any critical comments about the team and I find that silly.
