Why is virtually everyone saying we will be lucky to win 6? We are TENNESSEE! We BARELY lost to Florida,UGa,and SoCar! If not for Dools incompetence,we could`ve won 11 games! We don`t suck THAT bad. Don`t yall realize football is an emotional sport? When we got Doolied in the Fla game,most of the kids got depressed and stopped giving 110%. After the Uga debacle,they ALL did. Our team realized they had zero chance at anything besides the Nashville Bowl and juust didn`t have anything to play for. Now,we did lose our offensive PASSING firepower,but WE RETURN THE ENTIRE RUSHING OFFENSE virtually. WE RETURN NEARLY THE ENTIRE D! Our weak spots are QB and WR. We have a load of talent at those positions. We may find that they turn into strengths. YOU NEVER KNOW TILL THE GAMES ARE PLAYED! Why EVERYONE wants to say they`ll be happy with 6 ws is beyond me! We will contend for the SEC EAST! GO VOLS!

And yall need to all start planning on helping TENNESSEE break Bammers record for spring game attendance! We need all the publicity we can get! We need to show our coaches,players,AND THE NATION WE ARE THE BEST FANS ON EARTH! GO VOLS!

We barely lost, but we also lost a lot on offense. Add that to having a tougher schedule this year and you have a recipe for a 6-6 season. I am by no means a negateer, but I am a REALITeer. I hope for the best this year and will support UT no matter what, but you are kidding yourself if you think it will be an easy season.

The team has to have an attitude that they can win and that was one of Dooley's weaknesses. From what I've seen from CBJ and this staff so far, I believe they are confident they can win and that will influence the players. All they need now is to win one big game, whether it's Georgia, Fla, Bama, SC, and you'll see this team start believing in themselves. Then the blue chip recruits will want to be a part of it.

I like the never give up spirit of the OP.

I go into every game believing we can WIN and the other team has to prove we can't on the field.

Reality says we win 6 or 7 games next season.

I don't want to over expect and be badly let down.

My Orange blood says we'll compete for the SEC East.

I love my Vols no matter what!!!!!

I concur. We very well may go 4-8,but I don`t see it happening. We will beat everyone we are supposed to and get at least 1 upset and a bowl win. That`s 8-9-10 wins. I don`t believe we will annihilate everyone we play,but we HAVE A LEGIT SHOT AT WINNING 9-10 GAMES! Oregon is overrated. Fla is vulnerable. We get Uga and SoCar @ home. We will have an experienced rushing game and D. IF WE CAN GET A B- PERFORMANCE OUT OF THE QBS AND WRS,WE COULD BE LEGIT EAST CONTENDERS! If we do lose the big 5,I believe CBJ will at least hold us together and not allow another Vandy debacle. As for WE ARE TENNESSEE,if you don`t like it,GREAT! I don`t like u! jk! I have ALWAYS said we and us when referring to OUR BELOVED TENNESSEE VOLS! AND ALWAYS WILL! YEEEEEEHAAAAAAW! We`re going down to the Swamp,Gonna watch old Smokey eat a gaturd! The duck won`t fill him up. GO VOLS!

When I say "we", (and I think most would agree) I am talking about everyone in Volnation who bleeds orange, and has supported the team for part of, or the entire, 40 years I have. If you feel that strongly about it, I can say "We'" (with the exception of jeffmcflurry27) moving forward?

I think if you asked our new Coach, he's happy to have us. Previous coach, not so much. And, if you've ever paid taxes while living in Tennessee, they are your team too by definition when you get right down to it.

I believe we should have an "Unrealistic Expectations" forum for all these threads. There will be at least a dozen more of these before the season starts.

I consider it disrespectful to the kids on the field. Sorry, but the majority of people on here that say "we", have no problem with bashing these kids when they dont play well enough for us to happily live vicariously through their successes. People, like yourself, can disagree with me all you want. It's just my 2 cents.

Negateer I am... this team hurts my eyes.... I am always willing to give a coach a chance and I will for Martin....but to think this team right now can compete is just being blinded by the orange in your eyes

After watching our team fail to show up when it counts against Florida for pretty much the last 20 years (with only a few exceptions), I can't bring myself to believe that UF is vulnerable in any way when they play us. It always seems that we go out and make them look like National Champs, even when the rest of their season is mediocre. I am hopeful that Coach Jones can turn this around, but I'll have to actually see it to believe it after all of these years.

Our team has enough tallent to win. What they have been lacking is believing they can win. I believe we now have the coaching staff that can teach and motivate this team to be winners.

Not a "Negateer". I have high hopes and have been pro-CBJ since Day 1.

But, every school is doing this whole "We Are (Insert Your School Name Here)" like it is a sense of entitlement or something.

Plus it reminds me of that awful movie "We Are Marshall".

Op either had his weekly drink or mom let him on the computer because he starts a thread like this once a week it seems.... lol. Its good to be optimistic ... but bj boy has to show it on nsd n on the field before a majority of vols fans really feel good about the hire.

Only time will tell....but be happy!!!!!

N oh I feel like 8 games should be the bar or why hire cbj if he is only two game better than dools why 3m a year

CBJ is used to winning. Sounds like he expects to win here too.

I like that a lot better than expecting to "compete". I'm so sick of "competing".
