Don't use the quote sign then misquote me fool.

I'm 26. 12 years is almost half my life. That might as well be almost my entire life. Didn't really pay attention to football at 4 years old.

I'm with you brother. I'm 24 and was lucky enough to be at the 98 Arkansas and SECCG. Now I won't lie I remember the rain more than the game. The cowbells and fan fest(?) held me more captive. Does that make me any less deserving or demanding? Absolutely not, in fact I have a real hate of schools that most older fans dont. SC is a rival now, Candy is 3-2 outta the last 5. Don't get me started in UF, UGA, or Bama either!! This naritive that we should just "shut up" and support this abortion of an athletics department need to stop. :hi:

You young negas like to reference Google....

Google the times when UT football sucked in its 120 year history....few and far between...

Football and UT didn't start 26 yrs ago...

Yes sir. A Pruitt hire is really the bomb. Much better than those other coaches who have actually been winning head coaches. The rest of the SEC is going to fear UT now. Rah, Rah...Puke

What's your point? We suck so accept it? I, sir, will pass on that. Make Tennessee Great Again!
Use Google and see what the worst 20 year stretch was. Little hint, you weren't around to see it.

Yes, for three reasons.

#1 I'm not sitting outside, plus I can pipe VOV into it.

#2 If I give it up, the waitlist to get back into is super long.

#3 I often use it for business and really need access to a private box.

Also I have a 7 year commitment, so I couldn't do anything about it if I wanted. Only 4 more years left though.

Well cool, do some veteran outreach sometime and let me sit up there.

May I also mention. Jimbo Fisher went to A&M and he really has no ties there except for the AD. Word is he just wanted to be in the SEC. Talk about a huge hire that would've been. We should've entered into a bidding war with them. Sexton is his agent, too.

When I posted this thread, I was interested in the demographic of negative responses. I suspected the negatives to be vastly tilted to millennials. Thanks for the confirmation.

I would suggest less use of Vol Nation as a means of social data gathering and more use of Google to expand your vocabulary.

That's not even remotely a millennial term.

I, for one, am excited to be a TN Vol fan today. I am sick and tired of the whining and complaining from so many on this board. Let's face it, hiring a head football coach is a crap shoot. Occasionally, a no-brainer, home-run hire comes along, but as I look at the top 25 teams, I only see four hires from the past 10 years; Saban, Meyer, Richt, and Peterson. Outside of that I see a lot of programs who had their greatest success building on tradition and a coordinator as HC

-Oklahoma - currently coached by a promoted coordinator who followed Stoops who was hired away from FL where he was DC
-Georgia - currently coached by a former DC who followed Richt who was hired away from FSU where he was OC
-Clemson - Dabo is an exception, he didn't even serve as coordinator, just made the climb from receivers coach when Tommy Bowden was given his walking papers
-Wisconsin - Paul Chryst, former OC
-Auburn - Malzahn, with the exception of the stint at AK St, promoted OC
-USC - Helton was OC

Those are 6 of the top 10 ranked teams. UT has the tradition, facilities, and fan support to make a super star out of a coordinator. This is a new direction (hiring a coordinator). Let's give it a shot, support the program, and cut the "chicken little" crap!

Sunshine pumper sheep. You shut up

As I have said previously, whomever is hired by UT and Fulmer. The only thing you can be sure of is: The Volnation will be firmly split. Some pissed and a few happy. Some will begin right away to say things to undercut the new coach.I'm gonna wait as usual and see what the coach can do on the recruiting trail and secure a staff that can recruit and coach. The proof is in the pudding.Dabo wasn't even a coordinator when he got the top spot at the new evil empire. We may get lucky,Fulmer is trying to find the most likely to succeed!Lets help him and not hurt.

One man's Evil Empire is another man's properly run football program not prone to ridiculous turf wars and one idiotic hire after another.

0-9 in SEC. beat by Vandy 4 out of last 6 years. You expect us to join hands and sing kumbaya? 😡

Seemingly, Fulmer won't hire Tee to be HC of the Vols for whatever reasons. The irony will be when Tee is hired by another SEC school and owns Tennessee for ~the next two decades. [Other SEC school] earns 10+ CCs and 1+ NCs during Martin's tenure while his alma mater is relegated to also ran. Poetic...

Let's see. He was told no by Georgia Southern and South Alabama for their head jobs. Helton is doing all that he can to get him out of there so he doesn't have to fire him to promote his brother as OC (he already calls the plays as it is but is a co OC). Don't think any SEC teams will be hiring him anytime soon.
