Nega - SHUT UP!

I, for one, am excited to be a TN Vol fan today. I am sick and tired of the whining and complaining from so many on this board. Let's face it, hiring a head football coach is a crap shoot. Occasionally, a no-brainer, home-run hire comes along, but as I look at the top 25 teams, I only see four hires from the past 10 years; Saban, Meyer, Richt, and Peterson. Outside of that I see a lot of programs who had their greatest success building on tradition and a coordinator as HC
-Oklahoma - currently coached by a promoted coordinator who followed Stoops who was hired away from FL where he was OC
-Georgia - currently coached by a former DC who followed Richt who was hired away from FSU where he was OC
-Clemson - Dabo is an exception, he didn't even serve as coordinator, just made the climb from receivers coach when Tommy Bowden was given his walking papers
-Wisconsin - Paul Chryst, former OC
-Auburn - Malzahn, with the exception of the stint at AK St, promoted OC
-USC - Helton was OC

Those are 6 of the top 10 ranked teams. UT has the tradition, facilities, and fan support to make a super star out of a coordinator. This is a new direction (hiring a coordinator). Let's give it a shot, support the program, and cut the "chicken little" crap!

3rd thread today complaining about people sharing their opinion on a message board. Awesome

God forbid we Tennessee fans want better for our football program. I mean we should all just be ecstatic over the thought of getting someone like Kevin Steele. Who has an absolutely abysmal HC record. And Pruitt? Well forgive me, but the last time we had a Alabama coach on our staff, well everybody knows about that.

Time will tell whether or not the coordinator route will work here. It has a chance to. But its going to be a long tough road. We are not even a mediocre football team right now. Whatevef coach we do get is gonna have to rebuild again. Its year zero in 2018. Like it was year zero in 2010 and 2013. And it could be year zero in another 3-5 years. It seems like we have been in constant rebuild since Fulmer. Hopefully that will change. But if history is an indication, it wont.

Those people that share their opinion continually complain about decisions that have not even been made yet and on a basis of rumors for the most part.

When I posted this thread, I was interested in the demographic of negative responses. I suspected the negatives to be vastly tilted to millennials. Thanks for the confirmation.

Do we even have millennial fans left? Until we become relevant again, I'm afraid our average fan age will continue to increase.

Your OP had some good points in it - just bad delivery IMO.

I know my girls cheated on me twice but there's no way she'd do it a third time right?

Lies, da**, lies, statistics, and now we can add the volnation 1 post proofs.

Btw- try breathing through your nose.

I mean, say you go to a restaurant (the only one in town) a couple of times. The first two meals sucked, the service was poor. Each time you went, you said maybe it was a bad day, for whatever reason. Would you be willing as a consumer to go to that restaurant a third time?

These naysayers will jump on the Pruitt train (assuming that's who we get) when he proves to be a winner and gets us back to having a respectable defense like he has had at every stop that he's been.

If not then they'll either disappear or nitpick at everything he does and spin it negatively. A lot of people feed on negativity.

A lot of people on here are either casual fans, or they don't know much about football. Pruitt has proved himself at 3 different places at the college level that he is one of the best coordinators in the country, along with one of the best recruiters. He knows how to develop players and knows how to make in game adjustments.

Recruiting
Developing players
Creating a gameplan
Adjusting the gameplan if needed

Are pretty much the steps at winning and Pruitt checks all of those boxes.

Wow if he is truly all of that we must have some VERY stiff competition for his services.

3 times? Hell you are raising 10 kids from 10 different dudes. Now she just brought in #11 and he is a dumb looking bald barstard wearing a Bama jersey. She thinks you are dumb enough you won't notice...

I'm 25 so I guess I fall into the millennial fan?

Who cares about the nega fans, do what you believe will get us back and move forward. They will either cry for awhile and follow or leave and the price of ticket will decrease. I see no down side. :clapping:

i get it. he's not willing to throw in the towel. nothing wrong with that.

just hard to argue with 10 years of ineptitude. so i get that too.

ugh...conflict.

Exactly. We've all been through so much crap to this point that I won't judge any TN fan for acting/reacting in whichever way they see fit. Negas/sunshiners unite...we're all still Vol fans, which means we're all certifiably insane.

As I have said previously, whomever is hired by UT and Fulmer. The only thing you can be sure of is: The Volnation will be firmly split. Some pissed and a few happy. Some will begin right away to say things to undercut the new coach.I'm gonna wait as usual and see what the coach can do on the recruiting trail and secure a staff that can recruit and coach. The proof is in the pudding.Dabo wasn't even a coordinator when he got the top spot at the new evil empire. We may get lucky,Fulmer is trying to find the most likely to succeed!Lets help him and not hurt.
