Hopefully, it’s an isolated instance identifiable in the prostate. Likeliest options will be removal of the entire prostate or radiation therapy.Just found out dad does have prostate cancer. Don't know any details about what stage, if it can be removed, or what. They're gonna schedule a pet scan, just remember him in prayer.
Will be praying they found it early. My dad had prostate cancer, they found it early on and removed his prostate and he didn’t have any further issues with the cancer.Just found out dad does have prostate cancer. For me, that option was more complicated due to my prostate growing into my bladder. I opted for proton radiation therapy. My procedure to implant the seeds and place the hyaluronic gel between my prostate and colon is next Tuesday. My set up and simulation scan are 3/4. My 28 consecutive weekdays of rad treatments will start ~mid-March.Will be praying they found it early. Prayers for your dad. My cancer was diagnosed at stage 2+, had a prostatectomy 4 1/2 years ago, and no further issues with cancer. Hopefully your dad's treatment goes as well.Just found out dad does have prostate cancer. Don't know any details about what stage, if it can be removed, or what. Hooe and pray they get you cleared upMy Gleason score was 8, so action is required. Biopsy and scans identify a single cluster of cancer cells in the mid anterior. It’s close to my colon, thus the hylaronic gel to shield it from the deleterious effects of proton radiation. Protons are bigger and more targeted than photonic radiation. There’s less chance of damaging nearby organs and tissues.
