Bennett and Wolf appear to be studs, but I don't consider Hurd, Malone, and Robertson as stars. North and Sutton are all-conference level, but are more experienced.

That link has been posted to the football forum on VN dozens of times over the last 22 months including on page 7 of this very thread and if leaving Tennessee for Michigan was as much of an upgrade as leaving Cincinnati for Tennessee is then there could be something to think about here...Right now, Michigan from Tennessee is a lateral move and I would even say that it's a little easier to recruit to Tennessee which is obviously this staff's specialty.

Of course, none of that even matters because unlike Tennessee, Michigan probably won't make an offer to Butch Jones.

And the Saban comparison was made in reference to his rough start at Michigan State. Saban was a .500 coach his first 4 years there. So who knows if Butch can or can not become a great coach. Time will tell. But to act as if a comparison can't be made is even more foolishness on your part seeing as though Saban wan't the world beater he became coming out of the gates.

Are you referring to a typical Stoops performance in a big game? Tennessee is mostly losing games it is expected to lose. On the other hand, Oklahoma is one of the chokingest teams in college football.

You passed by the point. You mentioned a lot of our offensive future and present stars, but I'm talking about the defense. We will have one of the best defensive fronts in the country next year and several years to come. We already have some great secondary and LBing crews. It's hard to beat a team when the opponent can't score.

Hurd and Malone are 5 star recruits. So your credibility just went out the window immediately with that statement. Thing is no one really cares about your assessment.

Who determined you have any credibility to even teach a lesson? The first step is not to have oatmeal for a brain, so I don't think you made the cut.

Way to gloss over bad coaching, poor recruiting, pathetic leadership in the athletic department, the lowest APR in the conference, probation, etc all before Butch Jones and Dave Hart arrived. Basically you're a simpleton numbnut that's too basic to carry on a higher level conversation.

Excellent points; good national stories about leading candidates for the next Michigan AD; huge credentials within that group of Michigan ties. That person will be looking to hire someone with head coach success/ability to coach skills/strategy not someone who just excels at recruiting. I agree with you--Butch wouldn't be the pick under that criteria.

Why is your assessment worth any more than mine?

I'm aware that they were 5-stars, but that doesn't mean that they've performed that way. Hurd has shown none of the characteristics of an elite back, e.g., speed, elusiveness, ability to break tackles. Malone isn't exceptionally fast and doesn't run good routes nor make great catches.

It's obvious that you're butthurt about your dismal Vols team. If you bothered to read the title of the thread, you'd know that I was originally commenting on the "Butch to Michigan rumor". Then some wisea$$ asked me if I knew what FO meant, so I answered him in the same manner, just as I'm answering you.

Not at all, bro. Tennessee's record is right where I expected it to be.

But, when you start attacking the coach with a bunch of opinionated BS, I merely remind you of the shortcomings of your coach. Butch probably is closer to a conference championship than Big Game Bobby.
