Ok guys here is the skinny

The last two weeks I have started off drinking beer for the first half of game, then run out or get really upset and switch to captain and Coke in my yetty cup at half. It seems once I switch to captain the vols switch as well. Also when I put the cup down we went three and out in the second half. I pick it up and we get the fumble recovery in end zone.

Here is my conundrum , should I just start with captain and Coke and hold the cup the entire game, or should I keep drinking beer first half and then switch at half?

Just a little fun, would like to hear some other superstition rituals that some others may have started this season.

Gotta stay with the ritual, bro...it's what got us to 5-0. Captain for both halves could be disastrous...both for the team and for your soberness.:p

For the past two weeks I have checked volnation everyday while at work during my planning periods. So I have continued that tradition this week. I'll do it until we lose! LOL

Edit: Also keep doing what you're doing! It's working!

I haven't checked my phone during any first half this season. I think I need to change it up...

Against Florida I stopped drinking beer (since I had been all day) and just had the bartender bring me coke (the soft drink lol). Maybe we were rewarded for me trying to sober up? UGA game I was double fisting beers, AC Slater-ing a high top chair with arms crossed. I don't think I'll be doing that again.

Went to the first four but did not go to Georgia. However, I wore the same thing clothes for Georgia (did wash them after every game). Point is, continue to do what you are doing.:)

Same here, I've been wearing the same shirt/hat/class ring combo all season.

This is weird but I raged he first half of every game this season. Then when I quit raging the team had started playing better.

I've switched from my tri-star visor to my power t hat at halftime of every game. Minus the FL game bc I was there. Think I'm gonna start off with the hat this time

I rise early on game day to get those baby backs on the pit and done before the game starts @3:30. Saturday is always the day I keep a JD buzz going for most of the day instead of getting sh!t faced and falling asleep. Can't wait for Saturday ! :pepper:

You should mix Vodka, Coke, Bourbon, Beer and Wine together! It REALLY helps settle your stomach!:blink:

If your superstition revolves around drunkenness, shouldn't you call it a stupor-stition?

Just pour your beer into the yetty in the 1st half, then switch to high octane in the same cup for the 2nd half.

I understand this is just kind of a fun thread but I'm not too keen on any superstition. I assure you that what you had to drink in the first half and what you had to drink in the second half had zero effect on the outcome of the game. Life does not revolve around you and your wanton, willy nilly, decisions on choices of drink. I was wearing tennis shoes when Dobbs hit Jennings in the end zone against Georgia. Better wear them next week for certain victory! Or maybe it was what I had for lunch? Or maybe it was I mowed my lawn one hour prior to the game? Forget about your superstitions for they are worthless. Rely on General Neyland's Maxims which are based on reason. The team who makes the fewest mistakes will win the game, etc. I have followed Vols football for over 40 years. I don't buy the gear. I don't wear orange during a game and own no UT apparel aside from one shirt which I do not wear on game day. It has absolutely no effect on the outcome of the game no matter how loud I may or may not yell. The game is decided on the field by the players execution and coaches decisions and adjustments. What Joe Lunchpale is drinking had absolutely nothing to do with it. Hate to be harsh but I truly dislike superstition as being involved in any kind of rational discourse. Don't cheapen their hard earned accomplishments on the field by what you had to drink.

Okay, here's what we're gonna need you to do:

-- As the game starts, just at kickoff, take one quick gulp of your beer.

-- Then immediately put that puppy down, and pick up the mixed drink.

-- If they kicked off to us, and Evan Berry is running the ball, switch REALLY quick and slam down the whole first capn & coke. No sense in taking chances, we might get a kick-six out of it.

-- Stick with that for the rest of the game.

We're all counting on you.

Go Vols!
