My father-in-law graduated from the University of Tennessee in the 1960's. He recently passed away and I believe I have stumbled upon one of his old chemistry text books (he was a chem major).

Most people wouldn't care about such a "find," but I have a college text book from both of my grandfathers who were Engineering majors at Texas A&M, and I plan on passing these down to my kids at some point.

I don't have much info to go off of, other than the fact that it is a chemistry text book that was printed in the late 50's/early 60's.

However, the front page is rubber stamped (in red) with a book stores name. It simply says "Top Cash for books - anytime. KENNEDY BOOK STORE" (And is followed by a logo that is simply a Pennant which reads "Campus.")

So...I am looking to see if anyone is aware of a Campus Bookstore at UT that was called "Kennedy's Book Store."

I tried to Google it, but it gave me a bookstore in Kentucky...but not in Tennessee.

If anyone can share any info on this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

No idea. But good luck in your search. That's pretty cool!

I only started there in '73; recalling no Kennedy's then.

I just took my freshman geology book off the shelf, and sure enough, it had an ink-stamped pennant that said Campus, but there was nothing Kennedy about it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

That is interesting about your book having the same ink stamp on the inside (yet no mention of "Kennedys").

Oh well, I will keep searching. If you happen to find anything else, please let me know by posting it here. I will check back from time to time.
