Hey guys I'm needing some help on trying to find a nice hotel to stay at in Knoxville for the Florida game. I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend of 3 years that day. She was an Auburn fan when we 1st started dating, but after some convincing lol, she is now a devoted Vols fan. I had looked at some of the hotels in walking distance to the stadium like the Hampton, but it seems like they are booked. Does anybody know of some pretty nice hotels that are fairly priced? I would like to get it as close to Neyland as possible. Thanks and GO VOLS!

The Holiday Inn next to the Worlds Fair site is definitely walking distance. It offers nice walking area around new rocks with water behind convention center. Congratulations on converting a Barner BTW and for finding what you hope is the one.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, but it appears that everything is booked (at least that what it says online anyway). I've looked at the Hilton, Hampton, Crowne Plaza, and the Holiday Inn and they are showing that they are all booked. I wanna find something nice, and I'm willing to drive a lil ways. I didn't think that everything would be booked already. I'm starting to get nervous bc I want this day to be perfect. I figured that it would be a great day getting engaged to my dream girl, and beating the piss out of the gators. Anybody else got any other hotel suggestions?

Don't know if you checked the tailgating forum but you might get some info there. I put up a thread that has a link to a pretty extensive hotel search for Knoxville and surroundings. Don't know what you used or how you searched in your current attempt but go over and give it a try. Don't cost nuthin. :)

Hope she doesn't read VN. Wait, you said originally an AU fan...nevermind.

Congrats.

I think it's probably already fully booked, but try looking at the four points by sheraton. It's the closest hotel to the stadium and it's kind of hidden next to worlds fair park and Peyton Manning owns a part of it. Doubt you'll be able to get a room though it's small. Honestly you might try planning a weekend of going to Gatlinburg and the game.

Most of the area hotels block out gamedays online. Try actually calling the hotel to book the room.

I'm getting married a week before (planned the wedding around the GA St. game lol) and we are coming to the Florida game on the way back from our honeymoon. My sister got engaged at halftime of the Montana game last year. Good place to do it........sure hope she says yes lol. Lots of people watching you:)

Yes, my wife and I have stayed at the Oliver Hotel. It is a small, tasteful hotel which has been remodeled lately. Nice 1 bedroom suites. Not big and fancy, but we liked it a lot. It is just next to Market Square so easy to walk to restaurants, etc, but it is also very quiet.

I proposed at the fl game year before last and it was her first UT game ever she loved it. Except for the part where we lost lol. I swear its a curse though because now when i set in my recliner and turn on the game she says i dont know why you bother watching them you know their going to lose. I simply give her the bird and tell her to get me a beer!

Cool story, true story, except for the last line i know who the boss is...

Sevierville exit 407 on I-40 has the Wilderness Lodge which is really cool. has indoor water park but its not cheesy hotels. Also next to Smokies baseball stadium is the Hampton. Now if you go into Gatlinburg there are tons of choices. I live only 5 miles from the Wilderness Lodge and stayed there about 2 years ago and its really nice.

There are several hotels around the Cedar Bluff Road exit that I've had success on game days in the past. Can't walk to the game, but it's not too far, plus there are some good dining choices and places to go at night to celebrate.

Call the hotel man, the internet sites don't hav eall the info. Explain your idea to the desk clerk and maybe they can help. Good luck! Congrats and hope you have the perfect day, which in turn would mean the rest of us have as well, cause the gators will have been beat down in K-Town.

If your willing to do a 30 minute drive the double tree in oak ridge is pretty nice. Around $120 a night for a good room. That's where I proposed to my fiance LOL. Good food too excellent breakfast buffet.
