Can someone recommend some good hotels in or around Knoxville for the game that they've had good luck with. Coming in Friday, checking out Sunday. Thanks!

It's probably too late to worry about quality at this point.

Which direction are you coming from?

I'm coming up from Georgia. Most hotels tell me they will have cancellations for this game, including some top $ hotels---so I'm trying to find the best places.

you cannot go wrong with any of the downtown hotels (eg., Hilton, Crown Plaza, Marriott, et al.). I would pay $50 extra to stay downtown rather than have to fight traffic from west knoxville.

those are going to be mostly booked up. It will be more than 50$ more for the empty rooms downtown anyway.

Get a hotel in east Knoxville. It's easier to head that way after a game on the interstate... I think the Strawberry Plains (I think that's what it is) exit has some decent hotels.

Some of the hotels out west provide a charter bus to carry you back-forth to the game. The Holiday-Inn Select and The Hampton have this for a fee.

The bus parks abt two blks frm Neyland and then you walk back to the bus for the hotel return.

I like the Hilton, Marriot also. Lately, we've been staying at the Airport Hilton. The drive is not that bad. A lot of the visiting teams stay there.

I agree with this!!! Unless you're really on a budget...it's much more funn to stay closer to downtown...soo much more to do, see, feel, experience. I strongly suggest, if you got the legs, before or after the game...go to the river front...Calhouns...join the Vol Navy and take in the atmosphere!!!!!! Nothing like it in college football...IMO!!

I live in Atlanta and always stay at the Cedar Bluff Rd exit. Just stayed at the Holidy Inn Select for $144 a night for the Arkansas game (very nice rooms) Stayed at the LaQuinta for the Arkansas St game reasonable at $100 a night. This exit is only about 15 min drive to the stadium or take a taxi. Hope this helps

If you can swing it, stay at the Crowne Plaza and then walk over to Market Square and take the trolley in. I've done that twice this year and it is amazing how easy it is to get to and from the game.

I stayed at the downtown Hilton for homecoming and will be there for Vandy. You can walk to the game, very nice hotel. I think I paid $129 per night. Rooms were available 2 days ago when I booked, for the Vandy weekend.

Also, I used to stay at the Holiday Inn Select at Cedar Bluff. Several hotels around there, and most run buses to and from the game.

If you want to stay a little out of town on the way home . . . There's a Holiday Inn Express in Lenoir City that I have stayed in before that is fine and a lot less expensive than anything in Knoxville.
