Need I remind everyone about Gene Chizik?

This needs its own thread. I'm sure everyone laughed when Auburn let Tubs go and got Chizik, right? You know? The guy that went 5-19 at Iowa State and was riding a 10 game losing streak as he entered his first season at Auburn? Turned out pretty well given that they handed Kiffin his ass in Neyland and also had Bama beat late in the game. He's not a better coach than Dooley, imo. He just needs to put together good support.

Woo hoo!!! Chizik went 8-5. Big deal. He'll be less successful at Auburn than the guy they fired and Doofus will make Bill Battle look like Bill Belichick.

There is already a thread about this and Chizik still hasn't done crap except for barely pulling out a win over Northwestern.

Chizik did the smart thing and brought in Malzahn, Ted Roof and Trooper Taylor. If Dooley can bring in this kind of staff then he can have some early success like Chizik.

Chizik brought in a staff that is paving the way for success down there. We'll see who Dooley can muster up.

Gene Chizik went 3-5 in SEC play, lost 5 of his final 7 regular season games after a 5-0 start, and finished LAST in the SEC West. Yippee....the most overated coach in the league last season.

So you give no credit for Chizik pulling in a top 5 recruiting class in his first full year?

I thought Chizik was the worst hire in SEC history, but he has proven doubters wrong so far & is getting top recruits.
