Anyone else playing this? It's a pretty good game but I am looking for tips from anyone who has played. I was a big Burnout 3 fan and they are both made by EA and they seem to use the same engine.

I give it a thumbs up.

Need For Speeds are always alright... Never great, never bad, just good enough to hold me over for a few weeks while I break from Gran Turismo.

I've played the free demo you can download off the XBOX 360 LIVE service. Is this the one you're talking about?

No, just talking about the normal xbox edition, not 360.

I love the game but since I haven't played the older ones in years I can't really compare. The plot is that you are a street racer and you start out racing the top guy in the game. During the race your car screws up (sabotage) and you lose the race, your car, and your girlfriend then you get busted by the cops and go to jail. After you get out of jail the object is to work your way up through 15 blacklist rivals to get a chance to beat the guy who took you down. You have to win several races, milestone events (wreck so many police cars, rack up so much bounty, evade the police for so long, etc.), and gain so much bounty before you can race each rival. You can buy cars from the shops or you can get the pink slip to your rivals car after you beat them if you pick the right marker

The gameplay is getting pretty difficult now. I am on rival #5 and you have really fast police cars, police SUV's that come out of no where and ram you, helicopters, under cover cops, etc. There are a lot of shortcuts and hiding places and learning your way around the city is going to be key to beating the top levels.

From my time spend playing the game the Porsche Cayman is a good car to get pretty early in the game. I just got the Lamborghini Gallardo and it really rocks. I love this car. You must get it as soon as you can. I won the pink slip beating rival #6 I think. When you win a car this way, it comes will all of the upgrades already installed so you don't have to spend much money on peformance upgrades.

Most NFS games play pretty much the same. You've played one, you've played them all. They just change the theme from installment to installment. Not to say it's bad or anything, the games are relatively challenging (although not for me, I rule at all racing games given about a week of practice) and fun. The lasting appeal is usually about a month or two, but that's alright since new installments are released so frequently.
