Need a good free pop up blocker

If you're getting lots of popups, you probably have malware of some kind.

Google works great, but Internet Explorer 7 has some nice popup blocking too.

He's not kidding. If you're not using Firefox, you ought to try it. And this is coming from somebody who doesn't know jack.

Ture, lots of pop-ups are targeted at specific IE code.

If you're getting them randomly even when you aren't doing anything, that means you some spyware/etc. on your system.

Get Spybot, Adaware, and MS Anti-Spyware. Run them in safe mode to clear everything up. (Restart computer and hit F8 I believe while it starts loading. Select safe mode and run them; probably have to install before going into safe mode)

don't forget to get the adblock extension for firefox. it doesn't specifically target popups, but it will take care of other annoyances, like banner ads.

and get crap cleaner as well. might as well cover your tracks...

Yup. Because we all know what sites you have to go to for these to be such a problem. :naughty:
