Bad week for women's basketball. Current Nebraska players seem to have succeeded in getting their HC to step down with complaints of overwork and abuse. That was about the same issue that affected the Wichita State WBB program. It seems that previous Nebraska players disagree.

Maybe Genno is right recruit players not just on talent, but on character and their will to work hard. A point that needs to be well taken.

I just feel that a significant portion of today's youth lack drive and backbone.

Basketball courts, football fields, baseball fields, softball fields, etc are not for buttercups and snowflakes . . . these are NOT "safe spaces"! Hurt feelings don't count . . . :boxing2:

Come on you know that's the liberal and progressive agenda to make everyone dependent on the government. Take from the ones that work and give to the ones that don't work.

Typical red state propaganda promoted by faux news intended to keep people pissed off 24/7. Eat it up!

I work at a high school part time and talk to coaches and teachers all the time, their biggest complaints about students are:

1. Work ethics
2. Entitlement
3. Parent expectations

I remember in high school when coaches used curse words and grabbed you by the shoulder pads and said, "Are you listening to me?" I thought nothing about it and would work to do my best. I never complained to my parents, and if I did, they would tell me to quit complaining and follow the coach's directions. Today, many not all, want to be their child's best buddy and no matter what the child's complaint is, warrented or not, some parents attack the school. If little Johnny, or little Mary, does not think she is getting enough playing time in basketball, parents have been know to demand that their child be given equal playing time. Principals have to deal with parents complaints concerning tough workouts and sports drills. I had that happen to me during my latter coaching career. I believe that the same behavior has made it into the college ranks.

That is not to say that some coaches do not cause their own issues, because I believe you can get the job done without going all military. I do believe that coaching abuse exist, however, there are still a lot of students that have work ethic and entitlement issues.

Just wow. So if anyone reads reports, Yori basically abused the players, forced her staff to lie about player allegations, ran her team into the ground with her practices that led to injuries for 8 players on the team, and the vast majority of the team joined in the complaints, not even counting the ones who had transferred out. But all of this is because those soft spineless college athletes today just feel entitled. Heck, those whiners even complain about getting their heads all knocked up and concussed. As students getting a "free ride," they deserve to be treated in whatever way the coach thinks okay because they are minions of their school. Again, just wow.

I always liked Yori, but it appears something went seriously wrong for her after much of her staff left last spring, and she had to deal with huge expectations based around her injured star Rachel Theriot. It is of course possible that having so many injuries was just a fluke, though the odds are against it, and in any case the casualty list seems to have maybe pushed her a ways too far.

Yup, LV fans are complaining about injuries now. So if 8 players get injured at Neb under Yori, from a smaller LV roster, what would that look like? I guess that's an excuse, but c'mon, after 8 NCs, that's not the way to go. There are better choices.
