Nebraska Series Cancelled

Maybe we can pass part of the million to incentivize another preferred opponent to buy out some pay games and fill the home and home slots. The rest could go to NIL. Bet DW has got this.

According to top officials at the University of Nebraska's main campus in Lincoln, there was widespread opposition from the fans and players concerning a possible trip to East Tennessee. A research team at the highly touted Cornhusker School of Science concluded that approximately 35.8% of the Nebraska fans traveling to East Tennessee would be turned into moonshine.

Article I read on another site had a different response to the cancellation. Said Vols benefited from it as they get a $1M and that the playoff committee showed last yr that strength of schedule does not help you so why not schedule an easier team and get a sure W to pad the record. Also saw where Golish wants his UCF team as a fill in for the Neb game.

SOS means absolutely nothing these days. Pay a school that needs the money, that fans will travel to, and secure a couple easy dubs. Hawaii anyone?
I wouldn't say that.

The CFP committee will use strength of schedule against teams they don't think highly of and ignore it for teams they they do favor.

This past season's seeding/selection process showed there are no steadfast guidelines and everything is flexible

I see they are downgrading their stadium like we did taking out seats. What is going to be their capacity after they are finished?

If they are going to do a home and home with another P4 school these are the only ones with openings

Boston College
Florida State (plays Bama in 26 and UGA in 27, very unlikely)
Pitt
Stanford
TCU
Notre Dame
USC (has 1 non conference game open in 27 but that probably will be Notre Dame)
Washington

PITT!!! Let's keep the Johnny Majors classic going.

I went to the Battle at Bristol and I'm sure I'll get roasted, but no thanks.

It was cool to do once. Set an attendance record that likely never gets broken. Got a ton of publicity for both schools.

It was a logistical nightmare. I stayed with my Dad who lives 5 miles from the track and door to door It was a solid 12hr day and that was very little tailgating. Unless you were fortunate to have lower level seats, you basically watched the game on the giant screen...could have done that at the local bar and spent a lot less on beer. Finally, it was a once in a lifetime event, so keep it that way - I'm not sure you can draw 150K+ two years in a row.
