Yes. Both of those actually. Also Chad Morris, Tee Martin, Jeff Brohm (never signed an extension). I could go on.
I figured you thought as much, just wanted to see where your priorities were. Apparently you want to see more of the same carp we've seen the last 10 years. Brohm might be an ace but going 6-6 at Purdue isn't a major accomplishment, nor is being a career clipboard holder in the NFL. Dont even get me started on Wonderlic Tee. Morris you can make an argument for on but I'm not sure he runs a better offense than Brown. Leach we know is a great offensive mind but he'd be a terrible fit for Knoxville, much like bringing back Kiffin. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.
No way this goofball is considered. Horrible resume. I guess the Brown guys don't mind 30th ranked recruiting classes and 6-6 seasons. No one is coming here to play for Brown. Dooley 2.0
Are you saying he's been recruiting in the mid 30s?
Because those recruiting classes don't happen here. We will sign top 25 classes no matter who is coaching. It simply is the fact. We are too close to to much talent with too nice of a campus/facilities to do otherwise. We need people who can actually coach players and make them better. We will get the athletes.
Winning games at Troy against the Sun Belt is a major accomplishment? You serious, Clark?
Dude got TROUNCED by Brohm last year. But somehow Brohm isn't any better?
We have had those types of classes before. If we get this nobody we will float anywhere from 15th to 35th in recruiting. That won't be good enough for anything except 3rd in the East at best some and 7-5 type years. He is a nobody that has never recruited big time. We don't need anyone one without championship program pedigree. Either as an assistant or head coach. We need someone with a proven record of putting guys in the NFL. Not as high school coach with a gimmicky offense.
I'm guessing you mean for this year? Well honestly, you didn't expect us to retain a top 10 class did you? That's only happening if Fulmer somehow lands us a big fish like Shaw or Patterson which is very unrealistic.
I see you talkin a whole lot of mess without any real substance behind your words. Calling this guy a high school coach with a gimmicky offense is dumb. Remember that same offense took National Champs Clemson to the wire last year and beat a superior LSU team this year.
I mean every year. His highest profile job is UK for a year two as oc.lol::thud::no:
He has no recruiting cachet. We are already 4-8. He gets a bad class this year, which would pretty much be guaranteed, then goes 6-6 what do you think happens?
No highly ranked kid is coming here after a couple subpar seasons to play for a .500 coach no one has heard of. He would be a self imposed death penalty.
I would rather get Morris, who I also do not want. At least he coached at Clemson and has been a big time recruiter. If we hire Brown we might as well swap conferences with Memphis.
TN will always pull top 25 classes unless there are some serious negative recruitment going on, ie Fulmers last recruiting class when everyone knew he was going to be fired. If a plastic featured band nerd from Ferris State can recruit well enough to bring in top 5 classes, then this guy will have NO problem pulling in top 25, 15, top 10 classes to UT. Don't fool yourself man. Even Dooley had top 20 classes every year and he was a loser at LTech whose only claim to fame was his last name (who recruits undoubtedly had no reference to base an opinion on as Vince stopped coaching before they were even born).
If you really want to believe we'll sink to below top 25 classes with this guy that's your deal. Just makes you look really dumb.
