Neal Brown

I've mentioned him several times on here, have no clue why he isn't a volcano hot name, guess it's cause he looks like a nerd...Although, our new coach doesn't have a neck, so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

I'd be legit worried if y'all got Neal Brown.

The key takeaway here is that you have a head coach. I bet that's pretty cool.

Dunno why we keep throwing names out there. Just sit back and enjoy the announcement of Kevin Steele.

Would you rather have a "Google coach" like Neal Brown, who's absolutely killing it at Troy...Or an unproven assistant like Tee Martin or abject head coaching failure (And dinosaur) like Kevin Steele?

And no more of these fantasy names, that ship obviously never even left the dock.

Truth hurts. Before yesterday I was hoping for a miracle in landing Frost or Peterson. Heck I’d even be happy with Brohm brothers. The more I try to look at this situation objectively, Neal Brown is more our speed now. Sure, Neal may make a good or great P5 coach but man it is hard to swallow that UT cannot get out of it’s own way and hire an exciting coach that can bring us closer to the championship level we all think we deserve.

Bring back Tee. He will get a shot from somebody and has paid his dues working with quality teams.

He may or may not be a good coach but who gives a red rats azz about how much money he costs? It's that kind of thinking that got us into this mess.

Glad to see others thinking about Brown... he would be a good fit. Up and coming and a winner.

His team plays physical. Beat LSU on their field. At night. Knows the SEC he played at UK. Absolutely would take him.

Is a good candidate and would be a steal at $3M.

Discuss.

For the "had to Google" crowd, here's a link to his wiki page.

Another great potential head coach. I could get behind this too! After Currie was hired I stopped my season tickets and stopped donations to the University after he was hired. We had two candidates in David & CPF that would have had UT as the first and foremost in their decision making. Great Thread!!!!!!

CNB would love the fact he could go up against Bama and Auburn because they will never play little brother in Alabama. This coach will get a big job soon and no he's not CBJ 2.0.

I think it would be a good hire compared to some other options

Had a darn good offense at UK. I could get behind this hire but I do prefer to hire Tee but this would bring my money back only if Currie is fired and we get a Vol back in charge of the reins of the program. Enough is enough and something has to change.

I think Brown is a decent coach as well - He'll get his chance to prove it a bigger program soon...maybe even UK when Stoops leaves.

I'll be even more abstract and throw Bill Clark's name out there - he's done well in a very short time as HC; Jacksonville St and UAB, and has UAB 8-4 in their first year after resurrecting the program. That's got to be some serious coaching.

Bill Clark has done an amazing job there at UAB. He will be a hot name next year I imagine. Would like to see him build up UAB though, I think he's got the chance to take them to a new year bowl in short order. Blake Anderson is another hot name. People knock that conference but man they've got some very underrated coaches and many of those programs are on the rise.
