NCSU Question

4.One thing I disagree with from the previous post that someone posted, we have a run team 1st in my opinion. With Russell Wilson, he made alot with his legs. Coach TOB has always been run first, but with Mustafa Greene out last year we kind of got away from that. He was not the starter the year before last and still won't be this year. James Washington is our SR running back(short shifty RB). We also have Soph. RB Tony Creecy, I'm sure you will hear his name as well during our game. We could very well have a 3 headed monster running game this year with Washington, Greene, and Creecy.

I understand that you'll have an addition to the backfield, but NCST was 54th in passing but only 109th in rushing last season. That makes me think they're in a similar position to the Vols this year, just with inferior receivers.

True, but we were missing a key RB(Greene did not play at all last year) and we had quite a few injuries on the OL.....TOB has always been run first even dating back to his BC days....

Thanks, I try to be, now sometimes if someone says something that is idiotic or uncalled for, I may let my emotions get to me. The way I see it, you can talk all you want, but at the end of the game if my team comes out on top, its that much more fun to talk then....I can answer these questions.....

1. We used to be called the "Red Terrors", until a fan said that our team swarmed on the other team like a pack of wolves. The paper's got a hold of that, and the school decided to switch the name from "Red Terrors" to "Wolfpack".

2.We have had a few more than the guy posted earlier, those are our most notable like he said though....a few more are Willie Young, Stephen Tulloch, Jericho Cotchery....as far as the last 3 years, I would have to say at least between 20-25

3.Coach Tom O'Brien has been with the Pack since 2007

5. Our rituals seem very similar to yall's. We have out fight song that gets played after every time we score. We also have something we called the walk of champions before every home game. Our band forms a block S in the middle of field during the pregame. We have a Wolf statue we touch as they run out of the tunnel at Carter-Finely. We also have a live mascot(its not an actual wolf haha). It is called a Taskmaskan Wolf Dog. It is identical to a wolf imo. His name is Tuffy.

Any more questions just ask!

Isn't your fight song really just the tune of the Army Hymn with different lyrics? I am not judging, just asking.

My dad, a NCSU grad ('74), told me a funny story about their rivalry with UNC. He told me State loves to tell UNC that it is "Better to have agriculture than no culture at all". Apparently, and correct me if I misunderstood, that began when UNC didn't allow NCSU to bring some cheerleaders into a basketball game. That is an underrated and heated rivalry. I tend to pull for NCSU in the ACC. I love that you guys have had some success against FSU recently.

I haven't seen anyone give a nod to history in this thread. UT and NCSU have played twice (1-1) but not since 1939. Interesting match up.

Here is an interesting NCSU and UT historical connection. Monte Kiffin was the head coach at NCSU from like 80-82. His overall record was 16-17. It appears that a Kiff left their school disliked as well.

Thanks for the info. Really enjoyed reading your response. Liked the Red Terrors to wolf Pack account.

Welcome to VN Wolfpack man.. Seems like you have an all American in the defensive backfield.

Yes we do, the best thing about that though, is if QB's try to throw away from him, the rest of our DB's are really good as well!!!

Which is one of the things I'm looking forward to watching. Your DB's against our WR's. :good!:

If memory serves, the daunted Honey Badger didn't live up to his billing against our WRs...

Not to say he needed to with the way we played in the second half.
