I seem to remember it being discussed that NC State was getting some preseason media love for football. I can't find where it was, any help guys?

My father was a Virginia Tech graduate and thinks they will be garbage. Says UT should handle them, just wanted to give him some perspective.

Thanks in advance!

EA Sports giving them love, those B**tards.

Just playin. Everything I've seen says they have the potential to be decent, but they've lost a ton of players and we should handle them fairly easily.

Once ESPN remembers NC State is playing us the first game of the season, the media love will return...

I live in Raleigh & NC State has a good secondary & a capable Junior quarterback. They will be very weak in the LB position hopefully Rivera will exploit this. I fully expect us to win (I am bias), but NC State did finish strong compared too us remember Lexington : ( what a sad day.

I have been saying this since last season ended; NC State is a virtual carbon copy of Cincinnati last season. They have a decent defense when compared to their sub-par conference, and a solid QB with some decent tools around him. (They actually lost a quality RB that wouldve been another good piece)

They don't have the athletes or talent to compete with us. They actually got blown out by Cincinnati last year! 2 weeks after we Blew out Cinci! Its hard to trust any ACC team because the conference is so down and unpredictable. They lost a lot from a bad team and shouldn't be very good. They have an experienced QB and a "Talented" secondary are the two things you will hear in their favor.

I think they'll put up some points on our D. We'll be breaking in a new system and their O Line is their strength - 5 returning starters. Glennon is a solid QB and they're getting their best running back back from injury. BUT, I think our O can outscore them if we establish the run early in the game. Their D line and LBs are inexperienced and the middle of the field should be open. Their DBs are very solid and might be able to limit our vertical passing game. I think Chaney's smart enough to use Rivera a lot on short/intermediate routes and throw to the backs out of the backfield. All that said, I think we win with a late score in the 4th to take it 31-24.

Good analysis. I think there are a couple of preseason polls that have them as a top 30 team. Most polls aren't showing us any love right now and rightfully so I would say. One even predicts us as 6-6. I think we will prove them wrong, but can understand why they aren't giving up the love so easily.

I think it will be a close game, but believe that we have more talent and that will be the deciding factor in the 4th quarter.

NCSU will have no film on what Coach Sal is going to scheme on D or on how best to block McCullers and Sentimore, since there isn't any. I think they will be very confused and the talent of our D will hold their offense to 17 points max. It would not surprise me to see our O score 40+ on their D. They are weak, really weak.

Huh???

All they have do is look at alabama film to get the scheme... We won't do it as well but that is what we will do..

I doubt we'll start off the year running much of the 3-4. I think we will be multiple with a lean towards the 4-3, and as the season progresses, we will move closer and closer to the 3-4 defense.

Just curious.....what RB did we lose?

I don't think NC State lost a RB last year. Mustafa Green did get arrested on multiple charges in the offseason and I think it's BS if he plays in the Tennessee game, but he more than likely will because I believe he has been reinstated. I'm pretty sure they had another RB injured, which may have been Green. NCSU's OL is very underrated and very big, problem is I really don't think they will have stud WR's to make big plays and their ALL-ACC Tight End graduated.

Also, Cincy and NC State are two totally different teams and NC State played Cincy at Cincy, so it's not the best game to compare. NC State's secondary will be one of the best in the country. Watched them play against Louisville and Clemson in person and that Amerson kid will be a star in the NFL barring injury, his hands and range in the secondary is unbelievable. Speaking of stars, we have a few of our own. Rogers/Hunter/Patterson and company will be very hard for NCSU to go up against, although State did compete well against Clemson (Sammy Watkins) and FSU last year.

The Cincy game was a lot closer than a lot of people think. We stopped them on fourth down, converted some crucial fourth downs, and I believe had a fake punt that completely changed the outcome of that game. Our coaches called a hell of a game but if one of those plays backfired the entire outcome of the game could have changed.

Our o-line will take control with Tiny up front. RB's will be more physical working with Jay Graham and Tennessee will win by 7-10 in a close game.

Not an unreasonable assessment. I believe we will come out looking for blood due to all the pent up frustrations. I believe we will score and score, and CDD wanting to make a statement will let the starters stay in for nearly the whole game. I'm thinking it won't just be the offense but the CBs and Ss due to having to practice against DR, JH, and CP will be pretty good and execute 2-3 pick 6s. CDD will want the Vols to have as many highlight moments as possible to boost his stock for keeping the job. So he'll let the dogs out and not call them back in.

Calling 2-3 pick 6's??? WOW dude. Just WOW. But I sure hope you're right!

no, he sure didn't. it'll be the same thing with chaney this year. i'll be glad when his fat ass is gone. should have been fired last season. he's a ---- joke. flame away, i don't care. i've expressed my feelings for him since mid-season last year, and they won't change until i see some results. then i will say---- sorry, i was wrong.
